| I'm struggling to see how we, as a club, are really making the most of the relegation amnesty at the moment, tbh. After a great start, the security afforded by no p&r seems to have translated into complaceny with us. Everything seems just a little too confortable, and a little bit dull.
Admittedly, it takes time for new attitudes, approaches, and new (young) players to work their way through the system, but some improvement in our general approach to the game is needed soon, before too many people are turned off by what's increasingly looking like a big non-event.

Quite!
And in 12 months we'll be panicking that we desperately need bigger crowds and more income for the licence application. We need to buck our ideas up - and quickly!

I voted yes,
maybe the club and players are getting complacent, its no different to normal life where are jobs and companies are at risk too, if you have a thriving club/business its not a problem, if you haven't you look to improve it.
the clubs and players might not like the tension but as a fan it whats needed at the bottom end of the spectrum, you only have to go back to the wakey /cas game, in its own right it was as thrilling as a title decider

| I voted no.
Would be in favour if it was a level playing field. Bottom of SL relegated and GF winners in NL promoted. No crap about meeting the criteria for SL or clubs given exemptions.
Level playing field - YES as things stand at the moment - NO.

| Yes most definitely. I was dead set against it being abolished in the first place and for the fundamental reason is that the dreaded "R" word puts the fear of God into any sportsman, along with the implications that go with it and therefore is the motivation to play to the best of their ability every week.
Then you've got those poor teams in the national leagues, you're Barrows, who have been really doing well this year, your Widnes's and your Halifax's who would give anything to play at the top level but because the egos at the RFL who want to "Australianise" our sport, those teams for the next few years are unfortunately playing for the sake of playing, almost with it being like a past-time rather than for sport.
Once this spell of Franchise is over, bring back Promotion and Relegation for the sake of our sport and lets have some proper, ruthless competition again.

We won't get bigger crowds if we don't play a standard of rugby that people want to watch. It's supposed to be entertainment, after all, and we now have the opportunity to entertain without the fear that it will cost us our place in the top flight.
When you consider the salaries that some of the 1st team players are reported to earn, and then the money that Squadbuilder was trying to assemble to promote the future of the game, well, frankly, it's a chuffin joke. 25K, I believe, for the "next generation" deal..... 86K (according to the Sun, IIRC) for Scully. Where's the sense in that? And I'm not saying that Scully was stealing a living, I'm sure there are worse examples than him. But in terms of what we should be doing with the modest sums available to us, it doesn't look smart business to me.
It's time some people started to earn their coin and be grateful for what they have. Otherwise, I'd welcome Barrow ahead of us. Sorry, but it's true.

| Voted no. As exciting as it was, if Cas had won that game, we might not exist now. Having said that, we knew the franchise thing was coming, and so we knew that the only chance we had of staying in the top flight was being in the top flight. If it was pure promotion and relegation, like Sandal Cat says, maybe relegation would be no real disaster, as there would still be some hope for the next year.
Second half of the season should liven up when the top eight positions start to get fluid. This year is no different to last year in reality, and no-one complained about the lack of intensity then.

| I voted no.
For the last 10 years or so, we have had an 'unwritten franchise' type system. It consisted of 10 SL clubs, and interspersed with any 1/2 of Cas, Salford and Widnes, with Leigh/Fax making a daring incursion.
If the gap, salarywise and playingwise, was not that huge between the leagues, then fair enough, but the team going down, say, this year, would most likely be the team going up next, replacing the team that went up the year before, etc. etc. (Hull KR have cash, and support, millions of them )
However, the amnesty, as has been said, is not being used properly, or effectively, IMO.
SL clubs are still bringing near end of career Aussies over, at the expense of our young 'uns. Of course we all want to make the top 8, and high enough to get a home game, but the overseas quotas rules are strange and inadequate.
True the excitement of PR is unmatch(bear)able.
However, used correctly, no PR, for a few years anyway, I think is right the way we are ATM.
If it were to come back, I would suggest a play off series, of say top 2 NL, and bottom 2 SL teams, so generating a bit of cash for the teams going down and up, and an indication of how good/bad each other is.

| Good to know that 19 Wakey fans and me can see the bigger picture.
Franchising i sgood for the game gives stability and with other rule changes will see more young players coming through which is what the game needs.
their is a big difference between what the game of RL needs ie stability and what might be good for indavidual clubs.
It is up to those clubs to make the most of the opportunity that franchising gives, I am not sure that wakefield are.
