The dropped thing could be a new thing for the club and showing the coach will take that type of decision.
Historically you would have to go a long way back to name a player dropped for a dip in form.
Infact I can not think of one

He may well have been dropped due to poor form but, he may also be unvaccinated ?

Getting dropped after 1 poor game could get really interesting as the season progresses.
Lets hope that the squad who do go to France, put up a decent fight.

With hindsight, it was probably a mistake for MC to state publicly that 6 players (at that time) were unvaccinated. This inevitably led to speculation about any player who doesn't travel to France. This leads to a difficult situation where the club cannot be seen to divulge personal medical information, so they can't say who is or isn't vaccinated; adding to the loop of speculation.

We can speculate all day but ultimately we need to use what evidence we do have to make an assessment. I appreciate it is early in the season but his performances in preseason and on Sunday have not been up to standard. Most worrying for me it looks to be his energy levels and enthusiasm which is low.

Interesting that he is playing in the reserves, you could probably take a few things from that.

At the end of the day though against Fev in what was lacklustre performance from the entire team it was the younger lads who came on towards the end of the game and and made an impact when the more seasoned pro's couldn't so it is probably only right and fair, that if a player isn't contributing to the levels expected of them that they step up and get a chance.

I think it is a positive sign that the club is moving in the right direction when we can drop someone who would be classed as a key player and replace him with another experienced player.

The Catalans trip is a bit of a hiding to nothing. If we pick up a win it will be an unexpected bonus even with their absentees and regardless it shows the wider squad nobody is guaranteed a shirt.

Hopefully KT can use the next couple of weeks to get back to basics and rediscover his mojo. He is a quality player when he is on and I think we are going to need him near his best as it is in my opinion going to be a tough season.

Lineham might not have had the best of games, but does that warrant being dropped really.

Scrappy game difficult to referee I thought he blew for what he saw, think both sides got the odd bit of good fortune, but being biased I thought the 2 linesmen had poor games which didn't help the ref.

If Kershaw is fit I’d have him start vs Catalans at the expense of Lineham definitely.

Been very unimpressed with Lineham so far.

The defensive effort for the Gale try was appalling and totally unacceptable.

The only evidence we have is that Willie says he's dropped. I'm prepared to believe that.
Saying I'm blinded by passion is a bit strange considering no one knows Kelepi's vax status.
I'm saying it doesn't matter to me either way. He's still dropped. But it seems it does matter to you to prove something you can't prove.
So I asked why it matters to you? Why not just believe what Willie says? It's not like you are whistleblowing some great conspiracy.

So he’s the only player to ever do that? Players make mistakes and wingers mistakes tend to be more obvious than most. It was a pee poor effort but that tends to be the reasons most tries get scored.

Most games would be nil nil draws were it not for defensive errors, very few tries are what you’d call pure.

One of our tries came from a glaring error from Hull, will they drop said player. You’re being hyper critical imo and if your lad progresses you’ll find that’s not always a good thing.

I have also been unimpressed with Lineham so far Also think we need more than what J Crowther offers at loseforward by all means keep him in the squad but think you got to offer more than just tackling for such a crucial roll

I believe he is.

He got a two year deal just before his injury. I would have preferred to have offered Senior a deal.

Now there’s no reserve game it makes sense to keep Kelepi with the squad .. his mental health and confidence will be aided by being part of the group... even if he doesn’t play!

So its ok to drop one player for been poor but not another.if the only impact a player as on a game is for his own team to concede does he deserve to keep his place was he any better or worse than player dropped.its not about 1 mistake as you point out its about the whole game.for what its worth i dont know or care if kelepi is dropped or not its good to have a coach who is prepared to make these decisions rather than have faves as long as it applies to all players all season injuries permitted
