Reading all this, which is just speculation, one suspects the truth is much more straightforward!! I hope the meeting on the 8th June is as amazing news as the club says and as amazing as the speculation going around!! can we just be in superleague for next three years and have a new stadium within those three years!! can it just be that simple, please!!

The only way that the league would be extended is if the new TV and sponsorship deals are significantly increased on the last one. That is believed is unlikely in the current climate but you never know.

Wouldn't "two teams coming up" (eg Widnes and Halifax) mean two going down (eg Us and Cas)? If he had said "Super League increasing to 16 teams" I would be a tad happier.

I haven't heard what he's said, but when he talks about being better because it will increase the amount of British players, it must mean a extra 2 teams, otherwise the situation wouldn't change as far as creating extra jobs for British players , with 2 up 2 down it would remain the same.

One thing that has been proved at Wakey this year is that there is a lot of talent at other SL clubs not getting the break and game time they deserved. Mainly due to imports it would seem as well.

You can also look at the number of juniors that step up and do the job when injuries hit a squad. Look at the number of kids that are getting a go at Sts, what happens to them when Sts are back at full strength!

The talent is there, we just need to create opportunities for a realisation of potential, that and some more informed coaching.

If the Mr Parkin rumour is correct could he possibly be the new sponsor of SL as Engage have ended their association?Don't know if 180 million is enough but suspect it might be and in return the league is increased and Wakey stay in.

Same thing crossed my mind but it also crossed my mind that Probiz might pull the same strings for the Tigers!

I don't think the naming rights for SL will reach a 10th of that figure, or even possibly and a 100th.

The rumour I heard is that Probiz want to take over as the sponsor of Super League. Part of the conditions would be that Castleford and Wakefield would stay where they are, and Halifax would come up as well, meaning 16 teams.

So he could easily afford the sponsorship and would maybe outdo Mr Probiz(don't know how much he is worth)or give him a run for his money,so to speak.
If this is correct it could explain letting players go ie.Jeffries and signing players for 2 years,let the dead wood go,give the kids a chance to prove themselves for a full season then get some expensive experience in for next year whilst also retaining the good upcoming talent,spending the full cap.

Why would he do us any favours?

I got told he wants to keep the locally derbies, and that it's better for Castleford to have us in Super League than not. I don't know how reliable this is to be honest.

So he wants to keep us in for the sake of 2 games a year i don't think that would make up for the money that cas would lose for having the league expanded to 16 (SKY money).

Under the old regime yes but I get the feeling that this new lot wont lead us up the garden path like we have been before.
