No he wasn't - certainly not with the defence anyway , we're relying on 2 players making all of the important tackles at the mo .Attack wise it's improving on the pitch - training sessions they look really good , but it'll come .
Although they had more players today Hunslet are struggling - both their u10's coaches have packed in this week and two from another age team had to fill in .
Oh aye , final score :- crigg 48,parkside 12

good now I have managed to get the attention why don't you post more often it doesn't cost nothing and puts your point of view over as well and promote your club sorry about the spelling I should know better
promoting junior rugby is hard enough without losing your temper as a parent I personally can look further than the sour grapes and can take it on the chin when it is there to take so if you want to, I can also see games where other clubs that perform better than us on the day and hope we can correct our play,
please tell me your honest comments on the following
when our player was tackled high with a straight arm did it make you think "oh dear that was bad " there should of been more action taken bearing in mind both feet flew infront of him and he landed on his back and had to come off
the fact that our player was dragged into touch after being tackled that the ref didn't take the touch judge honest opinion.
when you scored in the second half and the conversion was moved further over for a more kickable kick which he he failed to to kick and that the ref constantly said there was two mins to play until you scored then the whistle blew same as the last time we played you that the ref blew early to win the game
I explained to our parents that the I heard the ref given prior warning in one offside to one player who continued to get involved which I at least acknowledged was right so not complaining about penalties for your side, but can you honestly say that your side wasn't offside at least once or twice or tackled more than once above the head
one of our players does suffer with breathing problems now and again but don't hold it against him its a fact that they are children and no we haven't told him to go down hence the reason when he got up from the high tackle straight away you should of at least acknowledge that
the fact that you noticed that we had a similar problem at crigg you seem to think that we are a looking for excuses, that day no rugby should of been played due to the weather as it ruined the game the ref didn't help so please don't call these sour grapes because like you I too it enjoyed too today,
I don't believe that a ref from either side should ref it ? what do you think
so welcome to local rugby forum promote your club and if you want I will meet you for a pint after the match in the wakey cup no probs its only a game and its for the kids

| normy under 13's went to stanningley came away with a good win 28-0. score doesn't reflect the game really. it was a good hard game. normy's defence was spot on. a good hard game enjoyed by all, parents and players alike.

TBF Normy do have a rep for blowing up early/extending match time .
BTW its obvious that an asthma sufferer will suffer more in defence than in attack , you clearly don't have any proper knowledge of the game or the the condition asthma's . to accuse a kid of cheating is diabolical IMO ....
good luck for rest of season

BTW, it is'nt obvious that an asthma sufferer would suffer more in defence than attack, over the many years I have been involved in junior and youth rugby the sufferer needed their inhaler as and when required, usually after alot of excersion.
Good luck for the rest of your season as well.

Now who's showing their lack of knowledge of rugby at junior level, A player is the first man in for 3/4 consecutive tackles?
Then again a player could do a full length of the pitch to score a try, even a non sufferer would be out of breath.
Look I'm not into petty trivial arguments trying to score points,or using others for arguments sake. Asthma sufferer's play and will continue to do so and good for for them, if THEIR parents think it is unsafe to do so they should'nt let them play especially if medical advice says otherwise.
At the end of the day just let the kids play, they enjoy it ,winning or losing is not as relevent as learning to play the game,at 12yo they are on a very big learning curve and referee's and decisions are on that curve.

sorry got to disagree OV as plenty of knowledge coaching kids and adults . as for me a asthma sufferer and ex player n coach i can assure you that defense is the most enduring part of any game of RL even if your not involved in the tackle you have to give 10 meters after.
I to not interested in the petty argument side but feel i must stand up for OV , i also have a degree sports injuries and fitness so maybe I'm wasting my breath (sorry bad punn) but on this occasion you are wrong .
any one would think you are still a little bitter about the fllodlightgate

Silly man More chance of making 3/4 tackles from marker position, then dropping into line and having to make 10yds after every tackle (as pointed out by mutts) than there is of making a full length break..........
I bow to your superior knowledge of Junior Rugby.
Good Luck with rest of your season. (and if you think learning to cope/deal with refs even at 12's is not part of their learning curve, your proving my point even more )

| home game tomorrow in the BARLA quarter final cup for the Stanley Rangers under 12s against the first division side Oulton Rangers, we narrowly lost to them last season 16 -10 so hope for it to be as close again,
also pleased to hear after last weeks game that from the 12s upwards neutral refs will be asked to ref games in the league and so it should, it eliminates arguments over decisions which can implement an unfair advantage due to having contact with either club

Snowie I hear what your saying and agree with it,but has it been thought out properly?
I think Kenny T has opened a pandora's box for himself here.
The 3 ref's from Normanton don't drive so problem No1. 2 of them play rugby themselves and the other runs the line for the first team on a Saturday,so location is going to be a problem.

| It won't work, neutral refs is fine but travel and time plus other commitments won't make it easy. Half of them are kids.
There is no answer to this problem i'm afraid and good old Kenny knows it.

| when it comes to junior rugby i honestly think you just have to take it on the chin if the young refs get it wrong, like the players at that age they make errors but again imo they do try to be fair. they make the errors when parents on the sideline start getting on their backs.
its a job knowone wants to do and im full of admiration for them, that admiration probably stems from when i was a young player and was told its yes sir no sir to every decision and its something i preach to my players otherwise we will end up like footballers questioning every decision.

we play Normanton next week again in the wakefield cup semi final going to be a hum dinger as the teams are so evenly matched but fairness has to be seen to be done,
we have had our fair share of results not going our way due to unfair advantage but that is how we see it but at the end of the day its the parents that are arguing and not the kids, rivalry's are good but should remember its for the kids we do this

| Understand the wakey cup semi is played on 28th nov and we as a fair minded club have already asked for a neutral referee to be appointed . Looking forward to game though if this weather keeps up it will not suit either teams style of play. With reference to neutral refs for league games the league appoint every one of our refs at Normy so in their eyes they are neutral at least that way you can give feedback through official channels . We used to send in assessment forms for every game but it was stopped as winning teams gave high scores and losing ones gave low scores. Agree with previous post that its coaches job to coach respect and discipline, to accept rough with smooth ,otherwise result is football . Know its easier said than done when you feel aggrieved but its the reason our game is the greatest game.

| heartbreak for the Stanley Rangers under 12s as the went down in such a good game losing to Oulton Raiders 10- 8, having taken the lead in the first half Oulton managed to equalize before half time,
then they took the lead and converted it, leaving Stanley 6 points behind they managed to get over the line but it was to far to kick, with both sides showing tiredness Stanley pressed on and looked the like ones to score but failed in the end
all credit to Oulton and would like to wish them good luck in the semi final
