| This thread is typical of why many Trinity fans don't use this forum anymore. A good new signing is announced fixtures are out but some prefer to witter on about the kick of moving 30 mins inline with nearly every other RL club. If you talk tradition we would still play on a Saturday afternoon. 3pm is better makes a better afternoon and the wife will be happy I'm home earlier for tea. To say the board don't know what they are going just because they move the kick off time 30mins inline with other clubs is pathetic, I reckon some so called supporters who post on here are the ones who don't know what they are doing.

So over to you MC explain yourself and who did you think to ask because whoever advised you this was a good idea clearly does not understand what Wakefield Trinity stands for and have you forgotten we have over 100 years of tradition. I fear what your design for the away shirt will be what about blue and amber.'"
Tell you what if we stuck to tradition then 3.30 on a Sunday would go out of the window and we'd be playing at 3.00 on a Saturday.
You mate could start an argument in an empty house. For God's sake get a life!!

| Overall not a big deal. I always thought 3.30 was a late ko time anyway. For those of us who travel some distance to games I applaud this move as we get home at a more reasonable time on a Sunday. For me yet another positive move.

| There are some really sad individuals on this forum, and you wonder why many have left and do not post anymore. If a two year old child could read and write, even they would feel embarrassed reading some of the dummy spits on here.

| I can see why some dont see it as an issue to change the kick off time.
However from a personal perspective it would have impacted on my decision to purchase a season ticket had i known about the change to kick off times on a Sunday.
It may only be 30 minutes, but that 30 minutes has potentially left my season ticket useless to me for 5 games.
Cant help thinking the club would have been better served gauging opinion on changing kick off times.

Your last tiny piece of credibility has just gone out of the door.
Blatant agenda indeed.

| Oh Agent XIII. You baffle me sometimes
I can't believe this is such a big issue. I'm ok that you not seeing good in everything but that doesn't mean you have to see bad in everything.
3.30 kick off was nothing to do with Wakefield Trinity. As you say yourself it's only since the late seventies that clubs have played at 3.30. It was a marketing ploy by the RL at the time, David Howes in particular that decided it would be good to have Sunday 3.30 as the Rugby League Hour.
Other clubs have moved away from that already.
We have also played games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening.
Why you feel you should be consulted is between you and your psychiatrist but I can't see it being a big deal either way. I always felt 3.30 was a bit late anyway.

| Unfortunately I did buy a season ticket because I could have made 3.30 KO. I work sundays and dont finish till half 2 and have to travel from Leeds. If id have known this I wouldnt have bought a season ticket. So I dont really know where that leaves me know? 200 quid I could have spent going to away games that know I dont have. You can call me negative but the club shouldnt really do this without prior notice to the fans.

| Whilst in the larger scheme of things it doesn't really matter i have to ask what is the point in changing? At a time when many fans are feeling disillusioned with the club why give them one more reason, no matter how minor it is perceived by some, for them to stay away? And surely having them into the ground longer pre-match is better given we have brought the catering back in house anyway? Will it effect me? No probably not but like it or not many people are creatures of habit and won't like the change. It just seems a pointless exercise to me.

I'd suggest anyone who now can't make games because of the chance contact the club. They maybe refunds or downgraded memberships available to help you out.

As you can see from the rest of the posts most seem to be positive but there are always the odd casualty and you have my sympathy because i too would be gutted.
In defence of the club they do only appear to be in line with every other club in Sl by kicking off at 3.00pm and had they of consulted im sure the majority would have been in favour/not bothered.
Can you not have a word with your boss and colleagues to see if on those sundays we are at home, you can sneak off 15 minutes early, maybe suggest going in early to compensate (i'm guessing as i have no idea what you do mate).

Or if enough people are sufficiently affected they may revert back to 1530 kick offs.

| I can only count 7 home 3pm Sunday games anyway, so not the greatest issue, although I wonder at the change. It will affect some people, and give some people the chance to moan, whereas no one can moan at the status quo.
For me, not bothered either way.

Slugger - thats over half the games of the season ticket. It would have made no financial sense to purchase if someone cant make 3pm.

You put your hand up and bought in when MC made a rallying call to fans and I know its a big commitment financially for you.
Well done for doing that but it seems this latest decision throws that back at you.

I disagree, most seem not bothered either way, which is different from positive. There are three groups here, the not bothered,in favour and not in favour.
How do you come to the conclusion we are falling in line with every other super league club by kicking off at 3pm?
Cas - 3.30pm Sunday
London 3.00pm Saturday
Catalans 6.00pm Saturday
Leeds/Hull/Wigan - 8pm Friday
The club should have considered the opinions of the in favour and not in favour.

That's not being negative. That is a valid reason to question the move.
Others don't have the reasoning that you have
I'd call the club if I were you and see what they can do

| I'm ceratinly in the not bothered group and I get the point about that no being the same as positive.
I'd like to know the reasoning behind it as I assume they see a positive from their side.
If they did it for the fans then yes they would have been better asking, but if they did it for other reasons then they is the positive group.
Could be easier for catering as I did think it was a bit late to sit down for dinner and at the times they had, and you still hung around for a bit
Could be a request from other clubs
Could even by saving ink as 3pm is less than 3.30pm.....it all counts.

Lighting is probably a big factor. I guess the flood lights will be on for half an hour less.

My conclusion was that only one club in SL now kicks off at 3:30 pm on a Sunday, so by my reckoning we are falling into line, i take your point though.
On the subject as a wholemost people buy their STs without having a scooby doo how many Sunday, Monday, Friday or Saturday fixtures we are going to be dished out with on fixture day and thats before fixtures get messed around with by Sky, SL and the weather.
Its pretty much the nature of the game these days.
