I would prepare yourself for more over the coming week. Do not underestimate the factor of the bandwagon jumpers. As i said before, most people have taken the flyers at face value and written in without looking over the planning doc's and forming an opinion for themselves. I had to laugh at one guy who lives in Stanley who mentioned that the first he had heard of this development was when he received the flyer thorough the door and it was typical of Wakefield council that this was the case. I wonder where he has been living for the past 4 months?

I'd have thought that tomorrows' game would be a good chance to let it be known to all Wakey fans that if they haven't made a comment on the WMDC site now is the time ,with only about 114 for the application,that leaves a large proportion of Wakey fans that haven't commented yet.If we could get a few hundred people to make sure they register and comment out of the thousands of fans there it would make a huge difference.

Could I just ask a question - who owns the land we are hoping to build on? Is it all owned by the council or does the developer own some/all of it? Sorry if this has already been mentioned but there have been so many threads about the stadium that I have lost track. Thanks

I was under the impression the majority land is owned by Yorkcourt.

To be fair, I think that is exactly what you need to get organised. If you produce a basic flyer, explaining why it is important (the WCCG flyer getting lots of attention from people just wanting to moan at Wakefield City Council) that they put in positive comments. Ask them to look at the SWAG counter flyer online, and then go to the planning web site and make positive comment.

Will the club not run them through the photocopier for you as a favour? If you made them A5 size and got a two boxes of cheap photo copy paper, you could run off 10,000 in not much time at all? What about a local printers? Do any sponsor the club, would they run them through as favour to SWAG?

Just to let you know, I am intending to e-mail my 3 Ward 15 councillors (Stanley & Outwood), who also cover Newmarket Lane, as well as all the current members of the planning committee, and point out that the current level of objections being seen is being swayed by the flyer being commercial distributed by Face the Future Ltd. I suspect if they are unaware of it (they might not be), they may be thinking that public opinion is turning against the scheme however, I think if it is pointed out, then they will at least understand that in large part these objection are indeed people just moaning for the sake of moaning. Either way, as we all the know, the objections contained on the flyer are all addressed by the planning application, so they do not have a sound basis for objection in relation to planning law.

Its strange that they have responded in this way and not officially. I would've though this would've been a statutory response. Anyhow they agree with the findings of WYE which in turn Natural England have provided mitigation for.

Probably been contacted by the CCG.

From what I have read in the comments from the objectors (not the Statutory ones) I don't think I have seen a valid objection yet ... everything mentioned has been covered in the proposals/plans.

The only one not covered is the ridiculous notion that the access to Pinderfields will be somehow jeopardised because of this development.

That is the trouble with this scaremongering - an elderly friend of my mum's was panic stricken Sunday morning as she lives opposite the hospital on Pinders Heath and had received the Red Alert through her door. They are worrying and upsetting people unnecessarily just to get them to write in support of the NIMBYS.

So they just want it scaled down now? Even they know this site will be developed at some point in the future, so why should Yorkcourt want to scale back?

As for setting a precedent, well if the council announce the creation of a new UDP, which will come into action in 2013 and allocates the whole site as brown field, then no laws have been broken, no precedents set. As they cling to the UDP for dear life they must know that the document itself is coming quickly to the end of its shelf life.

This Community group is the WCCG, I honestly think the best thing that can happen at the moment is we as a city hold a general meeting on this issue. Anyone with half a brain can poke massive holes in this argument once they have read the plans, i think we should let this bloke hang himself publicly on his own lies and propaganda.
I see no reason at all for the developers to even consider scaling back plans, and if i were on their payroll i would be becoming increasingly frustrated with the lies this group (or rather individual) are perpetuating. A public forum with the WCCG, councilors and developers could rid us of this problem. Once and for all.
