I think Thornley has done well for us so far this year but I don't think he would be quite up to Super League next year if we get there.

I also can't see Croft making it as a SL player, but I wouldn't be against keeping him as back up. If the rumours are true, he'd likely be fourth choice behind Pratt, Scott and Hall. But we always seem to suffer more injuries than most in three quarters so he'd add a bit of depth and wouldn't be too out of place if we needed him for a handful of games.

Yeah Croft is a strange one really, its 4 coaches in a row now who don't seem to fancy him. Personally I always felt he was a touch to small for a centre and not quick enough for a winger

That's not entirely true, one Coach fancied him as a SL centre and gave him quite a few 1st team appearances following that 1st game he had against Saints

scored a good try too. If i remember rightly.

This season he’s scored and set up a few. Even played better than Pratt for the odd game. I think it’s just a case that Powell really does rate Pratt highly. And tbf he will be a good SL centre and is building up valuable experience this year.

Croft played 2nd row in the last reserve game, and threw a nice cut out pass for the winger to score, wonder if the coaches see him as having a future there? Not named in tonight's reserve team

If Booth does play full back and with Thornley rested it will likely be Pratt and Croft in the centre. Competing against another former Wakefield academy player in Greensmith.

Batemen would be a solid signing for us if we are aiming to fight for a play off spot for 2025 in SL.

He is a current England international isn’t he? Played for England last year I think. When would be the last time we had 3 x England internationals in the squad?

I don’t think he’s at the level he was but he’d be a solid signing. Don’t expect it would be marquee either.

I have full confidence in the club to get right players in.

Second row is certainly an area for 2025 we need 2/3 coming in. Not going to be easy to find that quality to replace Ashurst and Pitts. Boothroyd does show promise imho and is ahead of players his own age from uk talent pool in terms of development however I think we only have one quota spot and still a few gaps to fill in a few areas.

My understanding is, his original demands were not achievable, but in the last few days these have reduced significantly.
