This is the problem- many want to jump down on MC etc suggesting he’s tight, he’s a skinflint etc etc.
I say to them you go with your one pound coin and buy the club (believe MC has said in the past he will sell for a pound). Run the club as debt free as he has- oh and then sink 500k of your own money into it - no return, wave goodbye to it, and then you can complain.
Just be grateful we still have a club because you know we Wouldn’t have without M C at the wheel!

can you blame her after years of waiting to win the challenge cup to fall so close, I said then she'd come on here at the back end of the season to gloat about our demise but seems she couldn't wait that long

Do you think that just "paying the bills" is the job of a CEO ?
One of his major roles if not the major is to keep our club in the elite level of rugby league, this is getting more and more unlikely year on year
Other major parts of his job include
Increase supporter base, increase major sponsors, improve facilities,be competitive in the competition, spend upto the salary cap to have the best on the field possible
All of the above bring in much needed revenue which makes the above easier and so on and so on.
Have any of the above been achieved?
Supporter numbers is horrendous (we are a BIG city compared to a lot of other teams),Major sponsorship not improved, facilities have not improved over his tenure (yes it is starting now but still not done),we are not competitive competitive in the competition and have been getting worse over time.We openly don't spend up to the salary cap unlike most if not all of the other clubs
I'm not saying he's not trying or not doing his best and hasn't done what he can for the club but these 3 things does not mean you are doing a good job
I know I keep referring to supermarkets but what would happen to the CEO of One of the big ones if they suddenly started dropping down the order of the bog boys, footfall dropped and they started lagging behind their other competitor's.
Do you think the statement of we are still paying the bills would suffice or would something else be done ?

So.
Ground improvements. He could have done little things to make it better but he's put his effort into a big project to make it permanently better, so is sustainable and long term. Success to me
Crowds are down across all clubs. We are in financially difficult times. So the measure should be in that context.
And also, it isn't really about the crowds, it's about the revenue generated. Its no good dropping prices to get larger footfall and make less money. That applies to Asda too.
Corporate boxes always seem pretty busy to me. I'd like to see your figures to say they are not good enough.
We can't just spend money we don't have.
I'm certain he isnt perfect. I don't know him but no chairman/CEO has done better in the last 50 years.

I feel you are thinking with your heart in the club and your loyalty to us
Take emotion and loyalty out of it and I think you would come up with a different view.
Do.you think ANYONE "outside" our club thinks that the club has been run successfully for the last 10 years Etc. (They see it without the emotion we have)
We are a BIG city compared to most of the other clubs and need to realise the potential we have not just drift along
Again I'm not saying his heart is not in it or isn't trying his best but is this good enough,we need to look at how and why other clubs have got the investment they have and follow suit

What I'm saying is you are not considering that Wakefield has never had big crowds in the last 50 years, even with good teams. We have been in admin a number of times.
So in that context, Carter is doing better than anyone else. We are not financially at risk. We were when he took over.
So I agree he hasn't made us a money making club, but nor has anyone else, and considering the reduced gates in covid times and the reduced Sky money this year, I reckon we've been quite successful.
I think you are thinking in the context of the on field performance.
We have a successful academy, which is well regarded by others and a reserve side before others were forced to do it. And we are not financially vulnerable. From what I can see, other clubs would very much like someone like Carter running their show.

| Also, the 'loyalty' and 'blind faith' argument is for people who can't make their point. I think you can.
I've been a supporter since the 70s. I love the club and will always support.
But I've been happy when we've changed coaches in the past or got rid of players some like.
All I do is call people out when they find one fault and make up 3 others to try and fit their preconceived ideas they can't prove.

Whilst I can agree on some of your points I really can't agree on some of the others
You state we are NOT financially vulnerable, yet if we do drop into the championship that really could spell the end as we know it as most of the revenue streams will dry up as well as the sky money
Having a successful academy and reserve side yes I agree but as for other clubs wishing they had a Mr Carter running the show I can't think of any to be honest.
I was talking to a few of our fans over at KR last week and the concensus I got was that they agreed with most of what I've said on here but we're reluctant to say it due to the loyalty and we need to support them no matter what

That's exactly what you are saying without offering a shred of evidence to back up your criticism, not once when asked have you come across with a decent alternative other than your usual stock answer, we need a CEO this that and tuther, any other CEO would have been sacked etc, etc, well in any other industry which you seem to quote rather a lot, all the CEO would do is harness his team under him, and if the product wasn't selling they'd simply change it, bit difficult in our industry, I've done arguing the point here on behalf of Carter as his record speaks for itself, i get your entitled to your opinion but guess what, so am I,. come back when you've got some justification in what your saying.

But if we go down, I'd rather have someone like Carter who knows how to budget accordingly, than the chairmen who throw money they haven't got and then go bust because they don't make it.

| Carter and Minards must be the leaders imo to steer us into the next chapter of our clubs history whatever happens between now and the end of the season.I Would honestly think even if we could have had even the slightest possibility of a new incumbent coming on board before these dramatic turn of events that have unfolded before us , I feel that ship has sailed ,and we are best going forwards with the two chaps who know this club inside out. Hopefully they can steer us through these choppy waters we find ourselves in ,and over the coming months we come out the other side .

The thing is other chairmen can afford to throw money at there club , because most can afford it ,just like pocket money to them Just hope Mr Carter and Mr Minard are willing to stick around if\when we go down Do not think there will be a club without them

I agree on a lot of this we have got more potential than most RL clubs just not enough money to fulfill that potential. Can’t blame Carter for that he’s doing the best he can, the new stand is a game changer in my opinion.

I think people are being overly optimistic on the difference a new stand will make. Yes it will give us a bit of a financial boost but only if we stay in Super League. If we don't then the loan from the council could potentially cripple us.

| Sick of reading that MC should put more money in to the club. He is not a rich man . He had some shares in Yorkshire Traction and made a bit of money when they sold out then invested it in Trinity. He took over as CEO when that dodgy double glazing salesman walked away after nearly bankrupting the club ( and we still didn't win anything when Glover was borrowing money to spend on players ) Those who are advocating he spends what little he has left should put their houses up in security for loans to spend the full cap. MC has kept the club alive and in SL on a shoestring because no one else wanted to put money in. He is an accountant not the owner of a profitable company like vertually every other SL owner . The only criticism I have is that over the last few seasons Salford have done better than us on a similar wage bill and similar crowds. I don't have the answer but I expect it is due to the coaches they have had and their smarter recruitment policy
