What qualifies your gut to suggest that an untried championship manager should be a likely replacement for Agar after two games?

For what it's worth. I think he's done an ok job in very trying circumstances. I'd like to see him with a team not built in 6 weeks and have a couple of settled pre-seasons before the trigger is pulled. I'm confident we will stay up this year.

Nothing qualifies it, it wasn't a statement of fact - that is what a gut feeling is. It's not my wish to make you look silly so why do it yourself.

My post was an opinion, a gut feeling - nowhere do I sate it as fact. I think you're probably right it is too early in purely factual or analytical terms, but that wasn't what I was saying was it. I'll try the word hunch, I have a hunch Agar is not the man to save us and we'll see who's right.

Agar's 'legacy' will be judged on the last day of the season. If we are in the top 12 he'll be a local hero, if we are in the bottom 2 he'll be forever remembered as our worst ever Super League coach.

Sorry but he has to take some esponsibility for it. Sure enough he isn't on the pitch but the fact is, it doesn't matter who the playes are, the dumb play and erors ae the same that have been blighting our play fo all but a handfull of gams on the end of season run. If the players change but the pattern is the same what conclusion are we to draw? Fact is, much as I cannot wait for the day he departs, we probably can't affod to sack him, so once again we will be masters of our own demise I expect. A new 3 year deal for crying out loud. At last someone who has noticed the same as me. All you say is encapsulated in 2 words. Reece Lyne. A player so obviously not SL standard have I rarely seen, yet he gets picked come what may. Frankie Mariano,, not the best player in SL by any means but a very useful player, especially fo a club with limited resources - RA not inteested in giving him an extended run or the same chances or the understanding it sounds he may have needed. Allegedly he had discipline issues; good coaches can manage difficult personalities (Mr Ferguson). There ae many examples. I am depressed we are stuck with him as coach. It is not about the Bradford game per se; that game typified everything that has been wrong with our play for all but about 10 of his 60+ games in charge. Thick, sloppy, stupid, ill-disciplined, disorganised and looking utterly like they had no plan at all except try to score with every play of the ball. Yes, the players have to take their share of the responsibility but, as I have said, the players change, the patterns and play don't. That is the coach for me. I hope they all read ths myself. They need a damn good kick up the backside after Thursday night

It's a results business, what do you want from him? He's had 2 seasons, 1 playoff appearance, 1 below par season. Managed to get a decent squad together after losing key men in the off season, including our 2 best props and only creative player. Awful off season to deal with, he deserves at least 10 games.

I think people have slightly missed the point. It's really nothing to do with his actual ability and no one would dny he's had a rough close season. Nor would I deny the football we played mid 2012 was excellent.

However with P&R the whole dynamic has changed and now patient builders and thinkers like Agar are no use to clubs like us. We IMHO need motivators. Sure they will do sod all for the team long term but short term points will make prizes.

It really is that simple and for me far to many people are burying their heads in the sand and kidding themselves. There will be no Crusaders this time, our nine lives are spent.

I think we have enough quality in the side to avoid relegation, think that we have a better squad than London & Widnes and are about the same level as Bradford and Cas.

Which "motivators" would you have in mind for the job?

Talking of motivators, do we ever have past players come in and remind the squad what it means to pull on the Red, Whit & Blue jersey.
I know some teams do this sort of thing before cup finals but, are Wakefield known for such things (no before finals of course, we haven't had too many of those in recent years).

I think ill play people out of position when we have cover. I think ill have players sat on the bench for 70 minutes when players are blowing out of their backsides. I think ill send Mariano to Fev then sign Jon Molloy. If he's a thinker lets put an idiot in charge can't do any worse.

This one keeps coming up; to the best of my knowledge, Mariano's departure to Cas was the result of JE's meddling - and not what RA wanted.

As for Molloy - I'm pretty sure he came to us for free, so hardly one to keep bashing Agar with.

No - my information was that he was *playing* for free, to rehab himself and try to earn a contract.

Think your info is wrong. He trained with the team for a couple of weeks early last season prior to signing to prove his fitness, he then signed a permanent deal until the end of this season. Doubt he is on a fortune but given it is an Elston contract it is probably over the odds.
