I can't understand why Widnes fans are so keen to defend the pitch. It might turn out to be a great thing, but so far we have had players with infected grazes, a player who is out for six months because he "seemed to catch his studs in the pitch", and the spectacle of players in tights. If I was a Widnes fan, I would be bothered, because they will get ripped apart when the fast teams come to town, and they themselves will struggle on a muddy grass pitch, because it will become alien.

Muddy pitches are a leveller. Looking at results so far, Widnes need one.

SL have dropped one here they should never have sanctioned this pitch in the first place Widnes will be out of pocket if it is ripped up this should happen without delay at SL expense and Widnes should be made to play all home games at Sts until the grass pitch is ready
SL and the RL should also pay compensation to Widnes to cover any loss

The only injury that may need looking into would be Kavanagh's as that was pretty innocuous. However Ben Harrison picked up the same injury at Hudds.
