I am lead to believe that ted stands as guarantor to the rfl as to the financial stability of the club, if this is the case then who knows!
Hardly a wild rumour, and as it surfaced before even TRB knew about it, it must be from very close to ted indeed.

In middle of moving house,which fitted quite nicely with the fact i didnt want to waste the petrol money after recent performances.

I would be very surprised if any Bank (yes - even those now with significant taxpayer stakes) had lent £ for £ on the contract purchase price so hopefully any settlement will be sufficient to see Ted end up with his creditors paid off, even though he may not be left with spare cash at the end of it.

I think that there have been a lot of views on this thread that are very short sighted and suggest that Ted has overseen poor financial management at the club. What those posters have forgotten is that it was Ted who saw the club through the darkest of our financial days when the club was subject to a Company's Voluntary Agreement following the Pearman fiasco (the equivalent to his own situation now) and thanks to Ted's hard work with the bank over many years the club is no on a much sounder financial footing. It's also worth remembering that Ted takes very little (if any) wage from the club, relying on his other interests for his income.

I wish Ted well in sorting things out.

Only one joke on this forum sunshine and that is you. If you were not such a grade A idiot you would try and read between the lines in regard to what TRB tells you. It may come as a surprise but even ted is allowed a private life. We (including TRB) know the full story unlike ignorant people like you. Sadly we can't tell you because YES even Ted has confidences that deserve to be respected.

As has been alluded to, this is a technical issue and Ted has had to protect himself and defacto the club by taking out a hopefully short term IVA. He is not bankrupt and the club is safe. If you can't accept that so what I'll live with it.

As for those mentioning France and Walker as saviours - GIVE YOYR HEADS A SHAKE. Why would either want to. France has not got the inclination or desire, Walker did it once and isn't keen to try it again. Your just weeing in the wind on this one.

Your info you say comes from the club and therefore is true, well don't think that others don't get theirs from the same place.

Yes ted is allowed a private life, and we are allowed people at the club who are willing to take the club forward from the mire we are currently in.
Teds had a fare crack of the whip and at the end of it we are staring down the barrel of a gun, not much progress in his tenure (not a total failure either!!!)
I for one hope the rfl force ted to step aside, his offspring are safe in jobs until their proved incompitent, so he need not worry!
But hopefully this will now be a time for someone to come forward and bring some fresh blood and a new future for the club.
Time will tell, I don't think they are going to be anyone as yet mentioned, but I don't care!

I just don't see anyone credible waiting around for the chance to do it. Ted's hinted at times in the past that he'd step aside if someone came along, and, whilst his terms for that may not have been what the likes of Ferres, etc wanted, the bigger problem seemed to be none of them really had the resources to take the club forward.

Without the likes of a Ken Davy, we've got to push along as best we can, which will always lead to ups and downs on the pitch, as good spells will be followed by good players being tempted where the grass is greener. I've never been entirely convinced by Ted, but the fact that he's been at least credible enough to allow the Newmarket deal to be brokered by others shows that, until one of those many secret multi-millionaires steps off the terrace and into the boardroom, he's a safer bet than a step into the unknown with any of those who've challenged him who seem to think they could do better, but never seem to have the goods.

For years now I've seen the hoops people like Ted have had to jump through, and not just him those at other clubs. So forgive me if I'm less than impressed when know nothing slag em off without a single fact to back them up. Worse still people like you who seem to fancy themselves as forum free thinkers back them up with the tired old mantra of everyone having a right to an opinion. Stalin had opinions - do you think he had a right to them or the right to act on them.

If you're wrongly accusing someone it is unacceptable, being only a sport does not let you off the hook. An opinion to be valid has to have some rational, on this forum that is totally lacking in many cases.

Ted isn't owed his job as Chairman, nor are myself, TRB and others his lap dogs, but after 15 years he is owed a little understanding, sympathy and respect. Can you and those you wish to protect imagine the pain this proud man is suffering right now - through no fault of his own as it happens yet all many seem to want to do is dump him ASAP for the next messiah - very very sad.

15 years as you say, we haven't progressed! He's had his go, time for a change, of one can be found!!
The facts on this matter have been claimed by ted himself, or are in the rfl rules, point out anywhere, where there is any inaccuracies, oh wise one!!
The fact that after 15 years we are now in a very risky off field position, shows that it's time for a change, there has been time for us to go forward and that hasn't been taken.
You need to take the blinkers off, stop slagging peoples opinions off and realise things aren't looking very good for us and this might be an opportunity to move the club forward, because that's what matters, above all else.
People like you appear to follow ted more than trin!
