As I understand it they have a a very good price arranged too (around £6M).
I believe they have a contracted negotiated with a developer with that price fixed for their land. The developer had a fixed time in which to buy the land from CTRLFC, after which point the agreed contract would be null and void.
Having read the cas forum, it appears the understanding is that there is a year left to run on that contract, which with the chemical licence removed and the ground to be built would be perfect timing.

However land prices have dropped considerably since the valuation a few years ago and it could be there is a question for the developers to consider; would you pay £6M for something only worth say £3/4M? Or would you let the contract expired and tender again later down the line, when the land is more accurately priced?

That said with the licence gone the land will be worth more in the long run.....

It (much like NM) is a complex web, and like NM all we can do is voice our support for both projects and wait and see.

FWIW I think both clubs should have had a policy of shouting as much praise as possible for each others projects, mutual support would have been much more productive than mud slinging.

This is extremely good news for Castleford, it basically means its all or nothing for us now, but i suppose thats the position we need to be in to be able to forge ahead with the stadium.

On a side note, i wish all the luck in the world for Wakefield on the 22nd October, i for one as a Cas fan with have my fingers, toes and anything i can cross for you.
