We need a big push to establish the advantage we had before the scaremongering flyers went out last Friday. Please get all the people you know to write in with their support for the development.

It’s fair to say the supporting column to a battering today: 90 – 7.

Some of the rubbish I’ve seen makes me fear for this country. I imagine an extremely small percentage will have considered the plans as a lot the objections have been covered.

When they go on about losing footpaths and cycle tracks it’s clear they have no idea what they’re on about. Still, the planners will ignore rubbish such as this a look at the actual details rather then frenzied scribbles from people who do not know what they’re objecting about.

We need to give this a BIG push now then. Lets get those letters in and fast!!

Have to say thats very underhand. I hope Wakefield council are able to find the individual who posted that and takes the appropriate action. I'm suprised it hasn't been taken down given the libelous remarks.

It would seem that all is not what it seems with some people!

All the claims are on the back of issues that have been met in the application and all hinge on the UDP, this document classified parts of the site in 2003, and as stated can be reclassified in 2013, the council will have had a plan for the area all along, it just so happens that 2013 fits in perfectly with the arrival of phase 2 of the development, which is the warehousing. By the time the construction starts on the rest of the site the land WON'T be green field anyway.

No UDP, no case. What we need the council to do now is to publicly commit to the reclassification now. They have always said the site is to be developed "at some point", well they know as well as the rest of the population of Wakefield NOW IS THAT TIME! THIS IS OUR CHANCE! While we should bend over backwards to reassure and work with residents of Newmarket, Stanley and Bottomboat as well as any other neighbouring WF area we need a strong council that will tell the "LSwhatever NIMBY's" (as well as Leeds council should they step in at any time) to mind their own business and leave affairs of Wakefield to it's citizens and council.

Over to you Mr Box and Co. Screw this up and I will wash my hands of the city!!!
