Does that mean that prior to Yorkcourt's skulduggery being revealed, the club, the Trust and SWAG weren't working together? How did that happen?!

Though some SWAG members were on the trust board? It would be good if the trust had an official media outlet or official social media, ever since this project was announced we haven't heard much from them.

You've heard from me, and there are others on the thread working on the case. Thee is nothing official to say, hence no updates, but there will be.

The ones who would rather now that NM didn't happen as they have the most to gain. Whilst in the mean time SRW gets seen as some kind of hero by trying to get at least something from the midst of a dire situation.

I'll say it again NM is dead and a deal will be struck to change the use of land at the stadium site. Absolute best case scenario is the trust may get the land at BV, but it will still need developing and they'll be nothing forthcoming cash wise for that.

How do you come to that conclusion? As I understand it SRW is looking to buy back Belle vue, that would then leave Yorkcourt to develop parts of Belle vue, am I reading this wrong?

So where exactly is the trust going to get the money from to buy Belle Vue AND surounding land from? Not the council given the cuts they are making to other services, that would be political suicide. If Yorkcourt had any intention or even ability to pay then we wouldn't be having this conversation now.

I didn't mention the trust, I said that I've seen an interview with SRW and he was looking to buy BV, I read it that he was looking to buy it himself.
Read back to some of the other posts, someone suggested that YC would have been getting mortgages to pay for Newmarket, they surely could do it for BV if that's the case?

I know where you are coming from, and that is what certain parties would prefer us to believe, but I don't agree at thesis stage. We need to keep NM alive, whether that is to bring that site into being or to better our opportunities at BV is to be decided, but the value we have in the deal is the intention to provide a stadium at NM in return for the granting of PP for the industrial units. One without the other is not a deal and was not what the inspector expected!

Seriously, the thought that Rodney Walker will part with his own brass to buy the ground is very amusing. probably about the same chance as there is in Peter Box doing the same.

And you do right to but my worry is it could get very expensive. You could push for a judicial review which might be the best chance of a successful outcome but that potentially is going to take a good chunk of money with absolutley no guarantees. YCP's legal team led by Andrew Piatt have already played a blinder once and Yorkcourt will not give in if they feel there is a better than even chance of winning. And there is a theoretical risk that the whole thing could be repealed which means eveybody loses out but nobody more so than the club. The more I think of it the more angry I get. Firstly though i'd get the dodgy dealings told to all and sundry if no progress is made very soon. Whether enough will give a damn I don't know but sympathy and bad press for the perpetrators could be your best friend here.

There are things we can do which are less expensive, but they will require a co-ordinate approach and we are not quite there yet.

It doesn't have to be repealed to make it very hard to move forward for YC.

Whilst I think that is unlikely, I think the point is that it's not Sir Rodney who would fund this himself.

Who actually owns the land at Newmarket?

Where there is money, power, egos and identities there are often problems, deceit, alterations and unethical behaviour. Some people have no shame.

Where are the elected members in all this , surely the loss of community sporting facilities should be of interest to them , they are supposed to be representing the whole of the community of WAKEFIELD .

Agreed. I just cannot understand how such 'skullduggery' can be ignored.
If they do let this quietly 'slip away' the council as a whole are doing a disservice to those who elected them!
As as already been pointed out it could have been a health/ education project etc.

Cowering in the shadows and totally afraid to do anything. Box has total control over every councillor in the labour party
and everyone of them is too afraid to stand up to him.

There are 63 councillors in WMDC out of which 2 are UKIP and 6 Tories, the rest are labour. So even the opposition is
so tiny it has no influence whatsoever.

Further to that, the fact that a councillor appears to have any say in how things are run is a sham. This council works
with a cabinet system of 7 members. It is only the cabinet that can make decisions or influence anything.
Guess who has 100% control of who is in the cabinet and if they do not dance to his tune he can just as easily remove them.

Cabinet members also get paid much more than normal councillors so they are queuing up to get on. Once on, they will look
after their own selfish interest to stay there. Box realises that and that is how he wields total control.
