Couple of years ago, Siddal were drawn against Toronto in the cup, the fixture remained at siddal and they almost beat them.
Its a terrible main pitch, on a slope both end to end and side to side and under sized. One side has a physical barrier, last time I went the other side was just taped off


As an amateur community set up its pretty good, but for a game like this it's totally inadequate, car park can hold around 30 cars and there is no on street parking, with a very narrow access road.

Yes can remember the toronto game think it was streamed live,been to siddal many times with amutuer rugby as you say it good for that level but not this game

Honestly couldn’t imagine why Siddal wouldn’t want to move the game to Belle vue or request it.

Decent payday, good experience for players as I’m sure trinity will make them and their staff welcome.

If like Ashurst testimonial tickets are priced reasonable (£10 maybe) then I see no reason why there wouldn’t be a couple thousand there.

BV seems more likely then The Shay.
By the time they've paid Fax to use their facilities, they will be out of pocket and if it's played at BV, there will be a decent crowd.
Seems like a no brainer but, I guess it's up to the two clubs and the RFL.

I like the thought of a 'double header'. Fax fans shouting for Siddal and Wakey fans shouting for Whitehaven would make for a cracking atmosphere.

The police and the Local Council might have a problem with it being played at Siddal

Toronto won’t have brought many but trinity could take 1000 + so I’m not sure it could cope with the numbers. Could be chaos.

They would have to parachute in cos there’s no where to park a car

We usually just offer a lump sum to cover the revenue so we can then earn from the stadium.
The only reason why someone wouldn't do it is if they think they have a chance of winning at home.
If not they are better taking the money for their club.

Siddal will be steered around the field by ex Wakefield Academy player Christian Ackroyd
It will be interesting to see where his game is at after a few years in the amateurs

It looks like they are playing at their home ground.

On the Saturday too which for me, is a real pain as I can't make it.

To be fair not many will its been played at siddal

apparently their ground doesn't meet minimum requirements. The RFL have acknowledged this , but still allowing it to be played there So what is the point of having minimum standards and then just ignoring them.

Just had a look on google maps… a single country lane access for vehicles… unsecured access to the ground across fields, would make policing numbers almost impossible… no safe disabled facilities… no seating (some fans can’t stand for the full game)

In essence it’s a pitch with a fence around and a club house… totally inadequate to host at this level!

Absolutely crazy decision

It’s a ridiculous decision if that’s what they’re doing!
Car park has 36 spaces, not sure where they’ll park a team coach or how a coach will get to the ground. What will they do if 1,500 Wakey Fans turn up?

I live in Halifax, Siddal is on side of a hill anspd as was said one road in and if something is happening at the church that one road will be packed

So, for argument's sake let's just say they beat us and progress to the next round and then draw Whino's or Wigan at home. Would the RFL allow them to play that game at home ???
