The elephant in the room here is that, if the sport wants clubs from France or, wherever else, in SL, the has to be a return to franchising.
Very, very few clubs gain promotion and stay in the top flight. In recentish years. From memory, only Cas and KR have managed to do this.
All of the others have made a very hasty return the The Championship.

IF RL wants these clubs in SL, we need to expand the number of clubs in the top flight and probably move to a "closed shop", if not, it really is a waste of time and
money for all concerned.

On a related theme, either Fev or Leigh are going to be in some financial peril after both have gambled the house on promotion.

Lets hope that they are both ok financially next season and beyond.

There is one club that hasn't made a hasty return to Championship and will soon have completed a quarter of a century in SL despite being deprived of proper funding from day 1 and not having a sugar daddy to but them success.

I keep seeing this and i don’t agree. If Saints have the league leaders sewn up by the last game then they the play in the first week of the play offs. There’s no way they’ll want their players having two weeks without a game before a semi final. They are more likely to rest them the game before which is on the monday of the easter weekend #2, just after they’ve played Wigan. Which is us.

As a Wire fan ,whose bowels are in free fall , i wonder if Toulouse finish bottom will a 14 team SL suddenly be instigated for next season ? The RFL are probably desperate for the French project to succeed.

To be honest Toulouse are brilliant for the game, they should have been given three year immunity from relegation. With my Trinity hat on I just want the relegated team to be anyone but us, sadly it is between us and Toulouse and I believe its going to go down to the last round when Toulouse will be playing a Saints side filled with academy players whilst we will be up against a Huddersfield side desperate to secure second place in the table.

I’ve just watched this weeks session of rugby with Craig Harrison Mick Gledhill on YouTube, it was said that the clubs should have the IMG decision on 12th September. That will be an interesting/nervous day, reminds me of the time when the licensing news as given, every one expected Trinity to miss out. God knows what I’ll happen this time, personally, I do think there will be licensing again in the near future, and remember, IMG will have a 12 year contract and a free rein to reorganise our sport, it could look completely different in 12 years time.
