The whole team is devoid of confidence at the min.......thats the main problem , we can play good rugby and like everyone agrees we have to sort our problem asap . Luckily there's still a fair few games left to get back to winning , lets hope Willie P can turn it round and get players playing to their ability whoever he picks. Also agree LF looks a good bet for Walker.

Could do with somebody like Liam Finn old head and shrewd distribution from half back bet we'd see a better Reece lynne with a few quality passes and a bit of space to work in.

But why the loss of confidence? that's what i don't understand. we started the season off not playing particularly badly, we were playing some good rugby, defence wasn't bad either, not getting beat by much when we lost, even though i doubt we were playing at the time with what i would consider our "strongest" team.
Something seems to have triggered a change in the team spirit at the club. now 7 losses on the bounce including challenge cup match.
We are more or less half way through the season, 13 matches played only 3 wins in SL, just one win more than TO who were relegation favourites at the beginning of season.
There are only 27 games this season, 11 home, 11 away, and 5 loop fixtures including the Magic weekend against TO at Newcastle. TO seem to be improving rapidly and seem quite comfortable when playing at home so could still have a few wins to come. realistically i think we need to win at least 6 or 7 out of the remaining 14 matches to be safe and at the moment that's looking a tall order.
Worrying times, we need a couple of wins urgently but i just can't see where they are going to come from.

I know we have dodged the relegation bullet many, many times since our promotion but this season I can’t see how we can do it again. If I am honest I am not sure where or if we actually have another win in us. It’s not just down to attacking the opponents line and scoring because we have had this problem for several seasons. I just feel something is different, what I wish I knew and those that might are not going to tell us.
It was not that long ago we had one of our strongest squads but rather than adding players to strengthen it further we switched to signing players whose best years are behind them. We also retained some whose form was regressing and giving them multi year contracts. Why we chose this format again I don’t know and once again those that do are not going to tell us.
With regards the ground I have asked before but where are those in the hopefully soon to be demolished East stand to go. The suggestion was in front of the South stand but it cannot be very high or it will block the view from the bar plus will we be provided with hard hats and waterproofs should anyone drop something from above.
What I want to know is what is going on the silence from the club is deafening on all matters. The marketing of matches is questionable and how many knew about the commemorative coin we have produced.

This is 100% correct, and says everything about where we are at the moment. That the best 7 we have had in recent years was a player in the twilight of a career that was mainly in the championship.

Are we paying the price for the signing of injury prone players We had to shuffle the team around in the match at least twice against Leeds .It does seem to be happening a lot this season. were we are moving players about in the match for one position to another to cover for some one who as had to leave the field injured .Many a time the player who as been moved is way out of is depth in that position .Just a thought not having a go at any one

I agree. But that includes TJ too not just Gaskell.

At least TJ has quality about him. Gaskell has done no better at stand off than someone like Walker.

Fell out with Beaumont at at Leigh, one of the many to do so. He certainly did well for Huddersfield. Watson stated they would have kept him but the deal for Danny Levi was already done. He’s a good pick up for them and yes he’s better than Hood!

I also notice Warrington have brought in a couple of new props this week, Thomas Mikalele from the NRL and Kyle Amor in loan for the rest of the season. That makes our game against them in a couple of weeks a bit tougher now, our forwards dominating theirs was a major factor in getting the wins over them earlier in the season. I had this one down as one we needed to get points from.

They have also signed the two props from Catalan for next season. I have not seen any sign of a drop in form or effort from these so why should ours be any different.

Can't help thinking that Amor would have been a great short term signing for us. He looked well up to speed in the recent Saints game at Cas and would walk into our side.
Also a good pro and could have mentored our young front rowers Eseh, Aydin, Shaw and Butler.
Has also stated he wants to play in the championship next season which may have been handy.

We might of put an offer for him but Warrington is a lot closer than Wakefield for commuting.

Not sure on the Gaskell one what actually happened, but when Minns went off that was nothing to do with being injury prone and more to do with being head hunted by that idiot Bentley. Red card every day of the week unless it's Kendall reffing against Wakefield.

I think Gaskell dived down to field a lose ball and got a kick in the face. Accidental obviously.

Peats was an excellent hooker for us, we would have liked to have kept him, and Watson said as much unfortunately could not keep him due to the fact we had no overseas spots available as we had already signed Levi which took up that last spot.
Not a ball runner but he is an excellent ball distributer, a solid tackler and has a very shrewd head on his shoulders. Definitely better than what you have.

It is better to stay in SL when you are in and it is not too late for us. To do so however requires money to be spent even if it makes us break our own budget. With relegation comes a large reduction in central funding, lower attendances and having to restart from scratch. It will then take several seasons to get back up but like most we would just go back down.
The club can risk money now to gain a more secure future in SL or carry on and probably have the notoriety of doing what many have tried to do before and see us relegated.
I would also add that the loan would be easier to service in SL than the finances in the Championship.
