I used to deliver to Henry Boot at Banner Cross. Very impressive headquarters for any one based there.

Why would it matter to you if you never sit in either a new one or the current one.

If nothing is happening I’m surprised the club has stayed silent, in the past it has openly criticised the council but not for a while. I’d like not to believe your post but sadly sounds like our council clowns.

Not sure it's necessarily a personal vendetta to see the club disappear. I think it's more down to all out greed, and Wakey are the ones still standing in the way of more profit from the Newmarket land - something Box/Yorkcourt probably didn't bank on when they drew up those imaginary stadium plans all those years ago.

Not just the plans from the original Newmarket scheme.
Fairly recently we had the "going to build a stadium regardless" and the "Balne Lane Fields" options, clearly put forward to show the club as the villians, when there appears to be only Mr Box & Co stuffing Wakefield Trinity.

The question remains, why, and who exactly stands to gain from the lack of progress.

Putting my (very) optimistic hat on here......could it be that Yorkcourt (or whatever they are called this week) don't have the financial clout to progress the site development and build the resultant stadium once they reach the 60,000 square metre trigger point, so have negotiated a deal to allow Henry Boot to come in and assist in facilitating the entire project ??

The other plans were nothing but red herrings to throw us off the Newmarket scent, waste time and make the club look like the difficult ones. There are/were obvious questions regarding the viability of the other sites. The Newmarket land is a nest egg for them (most likely the people who are making things very difficult) - it could make a very nice return, even if it means a few more years of showing up to meetings every now and then pretending like they care. Until we're left with no choice than to move elsewhere or cease to exist...then they can have everything to themselves. But still, the council have to make it look like they tried...

I’d still like to know what the people of Wakefield are gaining from the developer for the building at Newmarket on green belt land ???????

First let me say i want a stadium like all WAKEY fans do ! However, Trin will Never get a stadium whilst cold cllr Box is in charge & never until the Cas ground is built first ! Once the Cas ground is built Box will cancel Wakey's ground scheme provision as exhausted & push for sharing with Cas. The problem then would be the ground owned by Cas for £1 leaving any other user as a tenant, thereby eventual over priced rent enabling push out &/or expulsion as trinity being there does not suit them.
Please understand if the council was genuine same for Yorkcourt, then you would just get on with it, without prevaricting all the time.
They are not behind the scheme provision in any shape or form !

Well if you remember a few weeks back in waky express they announced they had been looking at a new site for the stadium and a statement would be made in July, well 1 week left then.

Wasn't that the news that came out regarding Balne Lane fields.

If so, this was denied at the time, and also Manni tweeted saying that why would they look at an alternative site, when they are still working hard trying to deliver an upgraded BV, or words to that effect.

Just seen a tweet from Manni congratulating the club on 3rd successive top 8 finish.

He then added lets hope to deliver the stadium, signing off with the following hashtag.

After yesterdays fantastic effort I have just sent the following to Henry Boot:-


Dear Sirs,

I notice that you appear to have become involved in the development at Newmarket Lane Stanley Wakefield.

When receiving planning permission the original developer promised to provide facilities (including new stadium) for sport in the Wakefield area via a section 106 agreement.

Since then a large building for Newcold PLC has been/is being built but the community stadium is as far away from being built as the day planning permission was given (following a public enquiry held by the Secretory of State).

I note from your website that among your values are integrity, loyalty and respect. That being so I was wondering if your involvement in the development might bring about an early resolution to the stadium issue.
