The best thing about this is that no one on here is in the loop so to speak. Everyone is guessing and speculating as to what the news could be. I've been in touch with a couple of employees of the club and they don't even know (or if they do they've been sworn to secrecy - my gut feeling is they haven't got a clue). Things are being run much more professionally now and I'm glad the only proper info we are now getting comes directly from the club itself. No more sneaking snippets of info out to people to post on here in order to judge fans reaction to plans (I know for a fact this went on). Things are being done properly and we are now a business not just a rugby club. Can't wait for today, can't wait for les cats and can't wait for the meeting. Onwards and upwards come on boys you can do it!

I feel that the planning issues would be the 'stumbling block' here, but you never know.
The talk of a new site means that a stadium at Newmarket would then become redundant and it could be used for warehousing totally - less expenditure (£20m) for Yorkcourt and more revenue streams from businesses. Perhaps Yorkcourt will then throw some money into the ground development pot?

If my memory serves me correctly, the temporary stands don't need the same level of planning approval and could easily be in place for next season.

If we have reached an agreement with whoever owns Belle Vue to either rent it for the next 2 or 3 years or even to buy it back and then put temp stands up. We might not require Oakwell as a plan B especially since the RFL have expressed their wish for us not to vacate the Wakefield area even temporarily.

I have always said moving out of wakefield would be an issue with the RFL, glad you have now backed this up.

On the basis that Oakwell was never officially announced, I can't see "we're staying at Belle Vue until Newmarket is built" merits the hype given.

From what I'm hearing we have very good times ahead of us. The umberella of sporting Wakefield will be formed and the sleeping giant that is Wakefield Trinity will be awoken and have it potential realized living in first class surroundings. I've has many false dawns being a trinity fan of 30 + years but never have I been more optimistic about our future than I am now.

I really hope you manage to stay in super league.I was at the stobart today in a crowd of just over 3000,and 1600 were our lot(Hull).I thought the home support was pretty pathetic tbh,and expected more from widnes.

I fear the damage is done at Widnes and they will struggle to pull the crowd back through the gates.

the same will happen to us if we were to go down but I feel the the expansion plan will take another turn

The thing makes me laugh is the poster refers to the person involved as a crook (mentioning no names) and then proceeds to name him in a response two or three posts later.

Oh and someone needs to tell them that Glover has honoured some of the debts to the smaller businesses that were owed money by the previous regime as they are always going on about it being a disgrace.

whatever it is they are certainly playing their cards close to their chests. no one seems to have any idea at all whats going on

There is not a word of anything on there that I recognise as truth - other than the fact that Parkin tried twice to buy WT before pulling out at the last minute both times.

As for Parking not being 'fit and proper' - don't make me laugh! I suspect that there is some confusion between certain prospective buyers from 5 months ago!
