| Round and round we go in circles. Personally im getting bord now, it seems every other topic is our two sets of fans having ago over the same issuses as the last. Why can we concentrate about the important things, like rugby?. What will be will be regards the rest.

| Quote ="miamivice"i have for a long time not wanted to get into this debate over who is going to build first etc etc.
however, like IA i also work in the building trade and i am party to some information that may be not in the public domain.
cas are planning to start building work on their ground in january 2012 with a 12 month build timescale, so if all goes to plan, ready for the 2013 season.
how do i know this? my company subscribe to "project leads" company called glenigans (anyone who works in the building industry will be aware of this). the information about cas, who the developers/builder are and when it is due to start was on there. this information is subject to change, but it will not be brought forward, only backwards.
for this information to appear on glenigans, someone from either the builder/developer/owner has stated this
i know this adds nothing to either argument in terms of who will build first, but it is statement of fact. if any cas fans thinks they will be in a new stadium by the start of next season, please contact me and we can have a bet!!!

Don't always believe what Glenigan's say. As you have already said they only print what they are told, there is nothing to back up what they say. Not saying that Castleford will not start building in 2012 but it will only be someone's estimate of when they anticipate to start.

Spot on. I have to say I'm getting brassed off with all the "politics". I used to enjoy watching Rugby League and genuinely thought it was the greatest game in the world. Not so sure now and I have to say my enjoyment of the game is quickly diminishing with all this crap going on.
The game used to be fun, we all looked out for each other, sure we had rivalries but basically we were one big Rugby League family. Not any more. It sickens me that the only way some can succeed is if others fail and we have fans wishing failure and hopeing for bad luck to descend on competitors in order to get franchises.
Getting sick of it all and I sometimes wonder if I can find something more enjoyable to do with my time and money - but I'm a Trinity fan after all and its hard to give up - but who knows how I may feel in the future.

cas and wakey should not get franchise. a franchise can be moved. e.g wakey to widnes and cas to halifax or leigh.

Indeed, it's it's doing nothing but causing confusion.
I am presuming Oakwell is off the agenda now, we've had two statements from the club in recent weeks and neither have included that as an option.

Maybe they've gone back to square one and started talking to Doncaster/Keepmoat again? Donny were keen for us to share there before the old shareholders went for the Oakwell option?

It quite funny but sad at the same time.RL used to be the all inclusive sport were everyone was welcome and rugby union used to be the sport you played if your face fitted. Now its seem the rolls have been completley reversed.

I never even thought to look! We use Barbour ABI (for other posters, this is the main rival service to Glenigans) and just checked on there and they have the start down as third quarter 2011 and this was updated on 27th Jan. Their next 'research call' is down for 14th April... probably because Waystone told them last time the called that they were expecting a planning decision by then.
This information is gathered by the companies (ABI/Glenigan) speaking directly to the developer/main contractor involved. They tend to give the correct information, as they understand at that time, because otherwise subbies and suppliers start to chase them before they are ready.
As you state this information does come directly from the developer and my experience is the same as yours... these dates rarely come back, they only tend to go forward. It can only be taken at face value of course but if someone at Waystone has told them that, that is what they are thinking at that time.
Loving the fact that you can't bring yourself to type the 'R' word BTW... this is what rivalry and banter should be about on here and not what it seems to have become due to the RFL generated franchise issues!

I would love this to happen but i don't think it is possible in the timescale and also the cost of this would be huge and although we are not skint anymore i don't think we have the funds to do this to a sufficiant standard.

Interesting news! I wonder if the reality of the situation has sunk in some what at the planning inspectorate and they have finally realised the potential issues of this PI and the LDF running along side by side could create for them and how much time, money and effort it could potentially waste!
These dates looks like it would put the public hearings into early 2012, after the site specific LDF comments (well, legally binding comments!) will have come back from the planning Inspectorate!!! This would make sense to me and I wonder if it is suddenly making sense to the planning inspectorate too!
