A player I've always rated. Suffered from playing in such a make shift side in his last season. He never got to show what he could do going forward. Unfortunately he's now showing it with the league leaders.

Hopefully refreshing his batteries for next season after been played out of position and used as a battering ram his breif stint in the first team.

Hopefully we are learning from the Steve Southern days. No good just battering someone and then moaning they can't play their normal game.

Seconded. Although a willing runner he is no prop, and if that’s what Agar has planned for him next season it would’ve been better had he left for a team who will develop his game.

Like I said before I’d like to see him have a stint at loose, especially if Washbrook is leaving, before a 13 is brought in from outside the club. Opportunities in the back row will be scarce next season. He’ll be 22 next year and he needs to be playing regular games at SL level.

Agree, ideal place for him imo, especially in the make up of our side.

our friend nosey parker and rugby leaguer say ben is going to hull kr as we need to get wage bill down from 1.3 to 1,1 mill and some squad players to go too, it also says lee smith did a u turn and decided to sign a extended contract for us much to Daryl Powell's despair

Apparently his agent approached Castleford without his permission but yes has resigned with us. Lets just hope we don't have a paper thin squad as when injuries come around we will suffer.
If we got rid of Vince Mellars as some people according say that would be a huge chunk of dosh saved. If Ali does retire then I guess we'll save money too. Apart from a couple of signings (Addy etc) I doubt there will be much change in the squad.

There is a big danger of us thinning out a thread bare squad and when injuries happen we won't be able to cope. Molloy will still be here, if you pay players off it counts against salary cap still. I'd assume we won't take up the extra year options on contracts or sell. Can't believe the club is back in this state IF its true.

When Ali is on form hes a quality players and can ravage defences especially with his offload game, but even when hes not playing too well he lifts the team just by his presence.

Molloy, Mellars and Lyne are all players who I wouldn't be bothered about if they left. Although if Cockayne is leaving for KR than Reece can cover the wing

Agree with all that.Wilkes was one of high wage earners, if rumors were correct. Obviously it would be a new contract but to progress, I think we could get better.. Sykes I wouldn't mind keeping but again that depends on the money and who else we can find to play SO, but that's where I'd be willing to spend a bit more money on to get the right man. Somehow we have to free up the cash that's been used up in players who are either not playing much or not performing. With the money tight like it is, we need value for money.
