Doesn't affect me Davide as I have always stood behind the posts in the North Stand and will continue to do so. If people are intent on causing aggro with opposition fans, they will do so outside the ground, so segregation will not stop that problem. The other issues could equally lead to complaints by Wakefield fans. Hence my comment about trying to deal with the offenders to eradicate the problems.
I am not being critical of the club here, I know this is not an easy issue to deal with and that various other parties have been consulted, just stating my opinion

I'm afraid to walk to those areas is even further from St catherine Street.
After all these years I feel i will have to accept that this will be my last year of support.

| If this policy had been announced at the start of the season I would not have bought a season ticket and will not be renewing. Match day experience totally ruined.
Thanks for reply.
Thought we were trying to get them in? Not force them out!

Again a fair point, we are responsible for the entire footprint of our stadium so we will increase stewarding on the exits too. Your right and in principle we will isolate the offenders and ban them but this takes time. Can i point out that I have not received a single complaint about any such behaviour against Hull FC. This is a credit to both sets of supporters

Its further than 60m but anyway thats not the point. I understand why this has to be done but make sure the stewards let people through to them next time because they weren't doing. It is one of those things that put people off coming back and i'm pretty sure the club doesn't need that. Communication is key!

Attending sports fixtures is all about routine and tradition. If you have always watched the same event from the same place, then it feels alien to watch it from somewhere else, and if you feel it is part of your matchday routine, then things aren't the same. Human nature.
As I've said, I'm not saying the club were necessarily wrong, but my match day experience is significantly lessened. That's just how it is.

I would disagree with this point, that might be your experience and you are entitled to it but its not everyones. My opinion would be going to watch a game of rugby league, feeling safe and experiencing a positive atmosphere. My experience was lessoned at the Castleford game due to drunken fans, swearing and people throwing missiles.

In this statement we warned fans about the large crowd and contingency plan by allowing Leeds into the NW Corner. We was due to release another statement but this was overlooked

| I like to stand on the western terrace in the corner when playing towards Donny Road and under the roof for the other half but can see why the club have introduced this. it won't stop me buying a season ticket and I'll just stay up the donny Road end. Hopefully in a couple of years we will all be getting settled in to our favourite spots at Newmarket. When you travel to the away games you don't see may home supportes in with the away so i suppose the ground is going the way of most other clubs . There is nowhere near as much banter between fans at games now which is a shame but times change, not always for the better, but sometimes things have to change or you face the danger of being left behind.
By the way when changing ends at the huddrsfield game I didn't notice an imtimidating atmosphere and the Huddersfield fans seemed happy enough, maybe its just that they aren't really used to any atmosphere at their games (joking!) Did they complain to the stewards or just to the RFL. Hope the club traced the so called fans using racist language etc. and banned them. No room for this at a family game. I haven't been to a ground yet where I haven't heard foul language and whilst I don't condone it I think every club is guilty of having fans who use it or maybe Hudds are posher than the rest.

Many fans feel that the west terrace offers the best view of the game. I'm sure there's plenty of people who bought season tickets based on this.

Come on, get real here. It's unfortunate for the lady in question but she is definitely the exception to the rule.
A local, walk up, partially sighted, elderly lady who for whatever reason cannot get round to an alternative entrance? Not gonna be many of them about, surely.

| I think this issue has multiple problems.
The club has to balance an old ground that doesn't lend itself to segregation for numerous reasons and any complaints from the RFL and SL.
From the supporters POV no e of us really enjoy segregation but we are all aware of issues in our ground and when visiting away grounds. This is IMO not a RL problem but a social one but we are part of society and suffer from its least fragrant aspects as many others.
Without doubt the club has failed to get the message across - Davide has already pointed this out and is at least prepared to come on here and listen and try to answer supporters concerns.
In the two seasons since the change of ownership we have mostly seen great benefits at BV so for fans to walk away over such an issue baring in mind we all hope to be taking up new seating or standing positions at NM in the near future is childish (and that isn't a dig at anyone as I was just as peeved as anyone on Monday, just a shot of realism) after all we've been through as supporters of this club.
Sadly sport seems to be heading towards a more segregated future and I lament this change.
Hopefully the club will try harder to make sure communication with the supporters (remember without us there is no club) and as displayed on this thread there are people at the club who are dedicated and if you can get hold of them they will try their best to do what they can to make things better where they can for us all.

But that isn't the point. For a club official to turn round and effectively tough luck off you go is not the right way to go about it.
Strange how there was never a problem until the Cas game last year which was caused by some very ill-advised marketing. Maybe the amount of beer sold, or more specifically brought in from outside, should be tempered first rather than getting plenty of peoples backs up.

Mine wasn't, because I was in the Western Terrace.
Like I said, I'm not suggesting the club were wrong to segregate. I'm just saying MY matchday experience is lessened by not being able to stand where I usually stand. That is my own personal view and you can't say I'm wrong. You are asking people to pay £20, and if people don't like it as much as they used to because their view isn't as good and are not surrounded by their usual crowd, some will vote with their feet. Most won't, and with Newmarket close by, it's a short term thing anyway.
It's not a deal breaker for me, just a shame.

| I prefer the segregation it's got us Trin fans all stood together and most of all it been done on police and RFL advice. It's only hopefully for 1 more season until we move to Newmarket. Well done to the club on acting on this.

and for a club official to be sat on my computer at 21.57 whilst on my holiday addressing issues suggests that i do care. The gentleman in question can contact me personally and I will assist him with the issue. I am not going to argue with the gentleman because of his disability, we have community action groups that could help him.
