Why after 10 years are we in the position we are, surely during that time it would be possible to generate income from a well run business in the top flight of the sport. You may be right and we had no choices this season but who are to blame for this the supporters, the referees or those in charge.

I don't know if this has already been seen and commented on earlier, but last night I read the interview with Ryan O' Neill, the co owner at Keighley, amf him blaming IMG for this move.

He said that Gale wanted a guaranteed opportunity to return to super league. As it stands, we're only potentially able to offer this on a temporary basis, of around 12 games, but he's currently signed up for the next 18 months or so.

Could there be something in the rumour a couple of weeks back that we were going with 14 teams.

I wouldn't think so.
Even if they did I think they'd try and pick 14 without us.

As a concerned Hull fan, worried about our own status in SL, I feel for you and would never want to see Wakefield in the wilderness, I have had some cracking away days at BV over the years and pray that continues. I have also heard that there will be no relegation, this year, from a source who is normally about 90% accurate with his information.
Expansion of the game will never really happen, we are as a sport, further behind RU than we have ever been, in terms of appeal and media preference, so we should stick to what we have , the heartland, a corridor of the M62 , and try to get Featherstone , Halifax and Bradford back to the top level. For all it seems like a three way relegation scrap between you, us at Hull and Castleford this sport cannot afford to lose any of those clubs, at a time when, professionally, our game is suffering a slow death.

I agree because why should they, I would expect their remit includes the game’s expansion. The first obvious one is a second French team rather than another Yorkshire based team.
The original proposed ground development would have helped but I am not too sure the slimmed down version which keeps being slimmed further really helps much. We cannot get away from the West Stand which is an eyesore and probably will remain so.
Why have we installed a screen in the ground because it would only be cost effective with SL coverage. I suppose it could be used for advertising, team sheets and scores.
The one obvious problem is self interest, unless Sky chip in with more money for a14 team competition no existing SL club is going to allow the funds to be diluted further. I am pretty sure our board wouldn’t.

Gale leaving Keighley had nothing to do with him particularly pining to be back in super league and definitely nothing to do with IMG (although it was a convenient excuse given their very vocal opposition) and everything to do with their dire financial position. They needed Gale’s wages off the books and the transfer fee we gave them to pay the wages. There will likely be others leave there soon enough as well. Relegation is happening this year, people need to stop clutching at straws.

But as you have. The screen saves us money while we are on TV. It costs money when Sky have to bring their own and its worth valuable points on the IMG criteria.

The Western side of the ground doesn't look pretty but can easily be improved, as has already happened by taking the dugouts away.

The East will be awesome for us. As a visual, comfort and money earning asset. Can't see how you can knock that.

From the IMG scoring, I think there's 0.25 points for owning the ground, 0.125 for having a big screen and 0.125 for the led floodlights. Might be a crucial 0.5 total when measured up against other Grade B strugglers.

Just been a waste of good money .,The 6 and 9 roll are a joke, any descent 6 and 9 should be able to make a break .or put a player through a gap . Our 6 and 9 are far to slow ,to old ,and are never on the park , because of injury .If we got coaches that the spine of the team should be old men you can see were we are ..There is a team in the Australian S L that have old .players all over the park .but there spine of the team as young fast players.they are scoring some great trys all set up by the spine

It's a risk you take when you sign older players, you get the experience but that is offset by more time injured usually.

Have to say here, to a degree, I agree.

It is very much a young person's sport, without trying to sound ageist.

This is my point, a lot of us said this was Brough mark 2. The club just don’t learn.

With the games left, if he manages to help us win four and save us. What would you say then.

They are trying to do something to change our fortunes. Not everything will work.
At the very least he is helping with coaching.
If they chose him over someone else maybe you'd have a case but right now they seem to have got the best options available.

Young Newman out for 3 months yet again with his cheestrings ,sorry I’m meant hamstrings . Injuries can and do happen to anyone at any age in any sport and is compounded by our collision sports . We all know far too well as we get older niggles and strains take so much longer to get over , he’s no different ,but will I’m sure be getting the best of attention to sort his problem out .Whether his introduction when it comes makes a difference to the team we will have to wait a bit longer to see . I’m certainly hoping his vast wealth of experience will rub off on the youngsters at the very least
