| The usual niggling, grubby spoiling tactics from Shudds and Brough doing his usual little dictator act.
Fantastic defence all the way throughout the game. I thought Fifita and Pauli were our outstanding attacking forwards but Hirst and Huby both put in great stints.
Quite a high penalty count and on the whole I thought Hewer didn't seem to favour either team. Somme better than usual tactical kicking from Finn, I thought today.
Congrats to all who contributed to getting the game played.

Looked like one to me, but I was a long way from it (North Stand).

| Thought Hampshire was fine but Wood is an experienced hooker so ran the game better.
It's good to have Rocky to cover but he's not a long term answer.
Thought Kirmond stepped up today strong in defense and some big runs.
Finn had a great second half and effectively won us the game.
The biggest thing was the heavy hitting props. It must have been hard work for Giants handling 5 of them today.
Thought Fergy and their 8 who's name I can't spell caused us some trouble.

Yes saw it
But he kicked his ankle so hard you could actually hear the contact
Stunned it was missed as it was right in front of the in goal touch judge
In all honesty what do those guys do?

| Cracking defensive performance from everyone today. Finn totally bossed that game in the second half. Agree that Hampshire isn’t a hooker, his passing from acting half is nowhere near that of Wood but he does look dangerous when in the line. Arundel was pretty unsung today, nothing spectacular but as safe as house and made some good yards.
And can anyone explain why Jake Mamo is so highly rated? If his surname was Smith and he came from Dewsbury he wouldn’t get a mention.

| There is no doubt that Mamo has skills.
Same as quite a few visitors we stopped him playing.
We kicked straight to him but we were right on him so he couldn't do his big line breaking runs.
He was getting frustrated today. Which is a good sign.

I gave England MOM. I thought he was outstanding in that first 20 minute stint in setting the tone for the forwards. He was aggressive and very tough in defence. But today was one of those days where you could have given 8 or 9 mom and no one would question it. Fifita did as he always does. I just thought England had his best game of the season today and he was penalty free!

Yes, I mentioned that in commentary. It was - in my opinion - a stonewall penalty and sin bin. Huby was certain to collect and score and was surely tripped up. I was surprised it wasn't picked up.

| A good performance today, especially in the first half when we were under the pump at the start.
We were the more clinical, in a game of few chances, taking our chances, while Huddersfield didn't.
Also good game management today too, often taking the 2, when previously, we could have ran it and risked coming away with nothing.
I do agree with Eastern, Pauli did put in a decent shift today, possibly his best game for us to date.
Great being a Trinity fan at the moment.

| Kirmond for me his tackling was impressive and I think he played for all but the final 10 minutes. I don’t think he missed a tackle, not flashy but vital on the day and in that type of game.

Exactly what I said about Mamo, why are we importing these kind of players. I don't mind Aussie who want a second chance or ones who re genuinely top notch. But these mercenary players who are nether one not the other just block the path for English players.
He's not much better than Jowitt but without the potential.
Hampshire has the devils own job to get a spot at the moment. Both Wood and Randall are better at 9 by some way imho though I have not seen enough of Randell to be definitive on that.
At HB he's far closer however Miller is entering his pomp and Finn shows no sign of slowing down. It will take an injury to dislodge one of those two so if it comes Hampshire will need to play the Rugby of his life because it will be a small window of oppertunity (hopefully).

Agree Danny's defence was exceptional
He also made what could be the tackle of the season
His solo effort took down Ikahihifo in the last ten minutes stopping a near certain try
You could see it was the point where the hudds players knew it was over
Danny really is Captain fantastic !!!

I have only got round to posting on your assessment of Mamo, because I've had to read it over and over again, to make sure you were serious?
Not only does it seem you are deadly serious but you believe what you've wrote.
Would you like to elaborate on how Mamo is a 'mercenary'?
Which English player's path he is blocking?
After all you should know, you can't judge a player after 4 matches!

I don’t know if it’s come from the player himself or those around him, but there’s a perception that he only wants to play half back. Like you say, he’s currently third in the pecking order in my opinion, and he doesn’t come across as the kind of person who has the patience to wait around for Finn to retire. So when his chance comes, he has to take it. A good position for the club to be in.

Ha, ha, classic, I'm surprised you haven't publicly tried to ridicule me for having a different opinion to yourself, because you generally do when anyone steps out of the 'everyone should agree with vastman' line.
