I would say that is a reasonable interpretation to make

They wanna get a wiggle - I've been making enquiries of my own about Superbowl and the Gym; they're surprisingly affordable - much more so than my original estimate.

Once that happens its the point of no return. Then if the money is not paid towards BV or the land of BV and superbowl are bought by someone else, there is no going back. We will then end up with nothing and poor old MC will get the blame for wanting to do this.

FIL, I know you weren't saying it was but it's not Michael Carter's responsibility to buy them. That responsibility lies with Yorkcourt if they chose to redevelop Belle Vue rather than develop a stadium at Newmarket.

You are always on here claiming to be a clever guy and right 99% of the time. All you have to do is read this thread and other Newmarket threads because it's all there. I'm sure a bright bloke like you will soon piece it together.

| There's no accounting for dishonesty, so all this hindsight stuff is pointless.
Nobody enters into this kind of agreement expecting to be stiffed; although clearly that was the intention of the developer.
This has turned into a salvage operation, how de we get the most out of this situation for Wakefield Trinity.
Pressure by negative publicity, negotiation, appealing to the good will of the wrong doer; they'll all probably come into play but for now all the would be Perry Masons need to have a word.

It was, it's just that there are ways around the agreement, so whoever wrote and approved that. There obviously was never any intention from the developer to provide a new stadium so it's a moot point.

Cheers SC, I was aware of that, but bearing in mind Yorkcourt's apparent position on this, I am of the opinion (along with many others on here !!) that we are likely to get diddly-squat out of them !!

| Surely after the issue of that article, its time to crank up the pressure on the Council and Yorkcourt by getting all their dirty linen out in the public domain? It seems to me that based on the information on this thread, they have no intention to deliver what they promised, and so spending further time in "closed door" discussions with them would appear from the outside as a waste of valuable time and highly unlikely to produce the desired outcome.
I appreciate that I am not privy to the info that TRB and SandalCat have and am not having a go at them, but if we need to shame Box and Mackie into doing the right thing then so be it.

It looks like we could do with Salford council supporting us rather than Wakefield council.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ma ... r-28872908
On a serious note it all looks very dodgy and what with the news that Jack Fulton had to bail out Cas recently; only highlights what a precarious job running a RL clubs finances is when you're dwelling near the bottom of the league and/or aren't bankrolled.

Castleford have done very well when you consider how close they were to Administration.
Their fans should pause for thought before criticising us in future, we have never had someone willing to put £800,000 into our club in the space of a few months, had we had that luxury I'm sure we'd have avoided Admin too. Even with Fultons money, Cas have still had to sell the likes of Clarke to raise further funds and some of the players leaving at the end of the season are doing so because Cas still have to cut wages to balance the accounts.
Back on topic, Box and Co fully understand that Castleford are in just as precarious position as we are and but for Jack Fulton they can't survive at Wheldon Rd. They also know that IF Newmarket gets built it's curtains for a new stadium for Cas or vice versa. They will stall and prevent either going ahead until they can force both clubs into a stadium share.
They are petrified of being left holding the baby if two stadiums get built, they are worried that neither will be self sustaining with just one team playing out of them and know they'll be forced to subsidise one or both with money they can't afford.

Thanks for telling me, I'd never have worked that out myself.
Who do you think has messed up ? There are clues all over the place.
As Khlav Kalash has said, have a look at the Section 106 Agreement. You can find a copy on the Council's Planning Portal, then look at the parties to the Agreement and then look at who is the beneficiary. Then you will be able to work out for yourself who you think has messed up.
When you have read it then please tell us who you think has messed up because it will be interesting to see if we agree.

Ground or not, you'd still have units.
It turns out (quite ironically) that despite your user name, you are just a good for nothing nimby!!!

Tricky, we are working on this in partnership with the Club and will make a move at the right time. We are all united on this, something that has not occurred until recently because of shall I say misinformation.
But we are now as one and I feel sure that there will be something happening and it's likely to be sooner rather than later.
We are not going to let this go.

Being told that Michael Carter and the Club did not want to go to Newmarket but wanted to stay at Belle Vue which following a conversation with Michael I found not to be true. Michael made it clear to me and has done so on this Forum that he is equally happy to go to Newmarket or a redeveloped Belle Vue. There was other misinformation that I cannot reveal on a public forum but I believe it was intended to keep the Club and the Trust/SWAG apart.
We are now working together to try and get whatever is best for Wakefield Trinity and the citizens of Wakefield whether that be at Newmarket or Belle Vue. Personally I'd prefer Newmarket but I'd also be happy with a redeveloped Belle Vue.
