| Our main chance of avoiding the RFL chopping block is a megabucks investor, we have one, no disrespect to any other interested parties.
If we really shake it up the RFLs lack of moral fibre will be tested, and that has got be a real opportunity for us.

| Quote ="SmokeyTA"In pre-packs where the buyer is the same in all but name to those who put the company in to administration i would agree with you. However when a company is sold to new owners after administration, it is simply a more pragmatic approach.
The options are the company gets liquidated and creditors get a pittance, the business is closed everyone involved loses their jobs or the company goes into administration, the creditors get a pittance but the business stays open and people keep their jobs and hopefully the business grows. I know which I would prefer,
Just because a business goes into administration doesnt mean there isnt a call for the product or the underlying fundementals dont have the potential to grow a successful business.
In this example, good luck to Wakefield. IMO it is a frustration that an area that so obviously has the potential to be a RL asset has for so long been an also ran, with internal division and infighting restricting the realistion of that potential, hopefully a clean slate will see this Wakefield move forward from strength to strength.
I also think people are being a little presupmtious that this will be the nadir for Wakefield in a similar way it has been for Widnes, there is nothing set in stone here, and it is probably 50-50 at the moment whether this is the beginning of a new dawn or the beginning of the end. Lets hope for the latter.
One note of caution, When Leeds Utd went in to administration, the largest creditor ended up being a mysterious off-shore company which insisted the former owners regained control, and paid rent to a mysterious trust who owned the stadium, lets hope there is no similarities here.'"
Pre packs seldom actually work - the problem with them is the same people who got them into trouble are the very people who are going to run the new company? In this case Ted and Denise!!!
Most creditors have become very wary of pre-packs and as a result the promised holy grail simply fails to materialise - obtaining credit is difficult so cash flow gets squeezed as the owners are usually overtrading.
Wakey have little/no chance of getting a franchise - so in the short term they would be better dropping down a division with a view to doing a Widnes and rebuilding for the round of franchises in 4 years time

Ok ill give u that they will get licences,But you still was saying it was wrong and hoping they maybe wouldent to save yourselfs,Cas was saying the same.Anyhow no bad feeling from me the rfl shouldent have double standards, yes if they let quins and crusaders get away with it why not you else where is the fairness in that. All im saying is they never let us get away with nothing so we got it in the neck again,Seems they just seem to pick who they want,Very strange system, good luck with finding a backer we know all to well what it feels like but its worked for us and it can for u !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Quote ="tropical1"You are correct of course however how it normally works is the company with bad credit get a supplier and pay cash for a number of transactions, then they say to the company ' you can see that we pay can we have a little bit of credit however if you can't do that we will find someone who will' then the company are between a rock and a hard place - some will take the risk in order to try to keep their own business ticking over - so yeah you can say that they shoulder some of the blame.
However lets put a different slant on this and i am putting this to everyone how will you feel if your www.westyorkshirewindows.co.uk/l ... m/2011/02/ comes home from their job and says they have been laid off because their company is one that is owed money and the owner is either closing the business or having to cut the work force.
This is a problem with any business going into administration not just wakefield so I think what the posters mean when they say think of the other business, think of the wider picture not just the business owner think of the cleaner, the driver, the shop assistant, the cook, the list goes on lets face it until it becomes apparent who money is owed to any of the people reading this could find themselves out of a job.
This is not having a go at Wakefield this is just unfortunately how business runs. Good luck for the future and i hope that whoever takes over does it for all the right reasons and has rugby in their hearts and business guile in their heads'"
You are correct but also you seem to forget the 40+ employees of Wakefield Trinity who would also lose their job as well and how would they feel telling their loved ones they have lost their job? There is also this huge speculation and almost assumption TBH, that 'other companies' will go down because Wakefield owed them some money!!! How and why exactly? The reality of the situation is that it is highly unlikely to happen to any companies to which Wakefield may owe money and if it did you equally must have to question the management of the creditor company and why they had risk such a high proportion of there turn-over with one client?
I have sympathy with any company that is owed money by any other company that goes down, but saving jobs that would definitely be lost versus liquidating a company just to pay a creditor who might have to lay one or two people off is simply stupid. It just does not add up... simple as that!

| maybe we should wait and see exactly who is owed what before jumping to any conclusions.
as the lines between wakefield trinity s accounts and those of ted richardson seem to be somewhat blurred.
it is common sense that no one would buy the club from ted as they could not be sure
a. what they were buying
b. whether it was his to sell
presumabley this was the reason anyone intending buying the club would choose this route.
we all hope this is a totally different case to crusaders admin, where the same owners simply carried on minus the debts. as no one here wants this to be the case in wakefield.

| What will probably happen if a big money investor comes in is that they will want promises from the RFL that they will get a SL spot from 2012 onwards otherwise what is the point in investing. Interesting to see what happens but you would n't want to chuck your money in if you get kicked out in 12 months would you?

This is where posters like you fall down. Should we gain a new owner who matches RFL requirements and Newmarket takes a positive turn (watch this space) then we have every chance of gaining a franchise.
The only reason there is any interest in the club is down to Newmarket, which may end up being Teds great legacy not that he will get any credit. No one wants a BV based Trinity, that club died yesterrday. Everyone wants a Newmarket based Wildcats including the RFL, that is the potential club they are after. That's the trump card and the only game in town, I'd suggest that the amount of interest in the club leads me to believe there is a lot of life left in Newmarket and thus Trinity reborn

Is it really Ted's legacy? A man who wrote that Belle Vue was not fit for top level sport in 1993 and it takes nearly 20 years for his 'legacy' to get anywhere near complete? Piggy backing on any scheme to get a stadium for free/on the cheap maybe.

Yes - because someone had to do it.
Short memories here - before 2004 and SWAG there was absolutely no appetite at all for any new stadium in Wakefield. We now have a local authority who are actively involved in trying to deliver this for us as part of a team that included Ted.

Sometimes you have to separate emotion from fact.
Doesn't matter what you think of Ted or his motives Newmarket is his baby, I can tell you that as fact from my SWAG connection.
In the dark days after the Thornes collapse and Council betrayal (why are people not frothing at the mouth on that one which was a far bigger betrayal than anything Ted has managed) he got off his backside and literally rang up any developer with a piece of land, he struck lucky. At the time he was the only one with the nouse to do it, and without that no one would be the least bit interested in the club now. No one at SWAG will take credit for Newmarket, we were still licking our wounds when Ted pulled out that particular rabbit!
Today would be the first day in a 100+ years Trinity did not exist but for Newmarket IMHO.
This is not an attempt by me to reform Ted reputation on here, clearly he has made mistakes and has clearly suffered a down turn in his own fortunes but that doesn't seem to matter a jot.
However let's for once let fact get in the way of a good vendetta. Whether by design or accident Newmarket is all that stands between us and oblivion.
Quite ironic that the man many blame for steering us towards the abyss may end up saving us by default - what pain what will cause some one here

Talking of betrayals perhaps you would like to explain to the fans on here why we did not get the land on Denby Dale Rd after Yorks CC declined Wakefield council's offer to rehouse them from Headingley, or perhaps that was not Teds fault either.

I do not have a theory thanks, I am talking about when Ted was offered land on Denby Dale Road which he refused shall we say for personal reasons. I find it strange but not impossible that you and maybe TRB no nothing about it or choose for whatever reason to either deny or ignore it after the both of you gave Ted the big build up on his efforts to secure a new ground for us thanks.
