I do not give a stuff what you think, Every club in super league gets their fans to put their hands in their pockets, thats how they get money to run the club, I'm convinced your from the old set up, or just a fan from another club, all you do is moan if you don't like it there is Cas down road shut door on way out...

| i actually don't care about richard agar being the head coach. the truth is he is a transient appointment: expendable. if it goes well (which i doubt), then elston and glover will be heroes, if not they can be decisive, admit their error and react swiftly and with force and get rid.
for me it’s all about the signal of intent we are sending out. we want to ‘just get by’ and survive. this has been at the core of why we haven’t progressed in the last 20 years. personally if we’re going for a coach that hasn’t proved himself at the highest level, then give nigel wright a go. he understand the supporters and the club’s history, and is bright and well liked and very good with the media. agar on the other hand is a limp failiure.
we’re in it for three years, glover is banking on the ground coming through, and sod the rest, just keep it ticking over until then. until the ground comes he’s not really spent any serious brass. if the ground comes then he’ll have a chance to make a couple of bob through the gates etc, but potentially sell his investment on at a profit.
agar doesn’t give a hoot about bringing kids through. that scares me, as we’ve already lost loads of promising talent.

| Nigel Wright as a head coach, I don't think so, what credentials has he got as a first team coach that makes you think he will be success, he may have been a good shout as a Assistant but not HC. How would employing Wright show any different signal to the RL world and fans.

my point is that we may as well go for somebody that wants the job and isnt' a failiure than somebody who has been forced out of a job becasue he has failed.
i'd much prefer it if we went for daryl powell, whether he applied or not.

Not my fault you've been an AG blowhard bullying anyone who dared to burst your bubble. You set yourself up for a fall not me, it's you who overloaded AG and JE with expectations anyone with any RL knowledge knew they couldn't match. If you want to be the big man you take it up with your heroes.
As it happens it could have been worse than Agar, as a coach he is not an utter disaster IMHO even if he isn't the great leap forward I wanted. In fact he may be better with a club like us with less immediate expectations and less ego's. Just my opinion, I'm not in despair.
As for you get of your high horse and join us mortals - don't take your frustrations out on me thanks.

So in your world being sacked from a championship doesn't constitute failure, but a challenge cup final and top eight finishes does. How exactly does that work?
I would agree with the Powell statement but your Wright versus Agar argument is flawed.

agar has had cash for wages, transfer fees (in this day and age) and world class players. he's just about scraped into the playoffs, and beat a side featuring side show bob in a semi final that normanton knights would have won.
nigel wright didn't fail at barrow, barrow is a complete basket case as a club. the madman at the helm would sack wayne bennett.
wright isn't a proven success, but agar has proved he can fail.

Couldn't the same be applied to John Kear, yet he is seen by some as the all conquering messiah. Kear had the same privileges at Hull with except of beating Leeds in the cup final didn't fair much better.
It also matters not whether Barrow are a basket case of a club it shows on Wright's CV he was sacked and whether you like it or not, rightly or wrongly in professional sport, sacking and failure go hand in hand. Whether there are mitigating circumstances or not.

| I'm in agreement with FFF on a lot of what he has posted today, his comments regarding the spin since AG has taken over are pretty much bang on and I would beg Wright to come as a head coach before offering it to someone who as no media nouse and who can't bring the kids through. I reckon I could have got the Hull squad through to the play offs even a blind, deaf monkey could with the resources he has had at his disposal. If this happens then it stinks of jobs for the boys and Everyman and his dog has had a whinge about that over recent months.

I fail to see how us allegedly taking Agar as coach has set up anyone for a fall, if he is the best available candidate.
We can only have who wants to come, and after the fiasco of the previous few years that candidate may not be one would like, but themes the breaks.
Hopefully once the club finds it's feet and gets into NM the next time we need a new coach the calibre of applicant may be more appealing to posters on here.
The irony of your post is in the fact that you cannot see past your former ill placed loyalties, being in support of someone who has done more to redress the balance of the previous situations, does IMO not make anyone a blowhard.
That mantle goes to one who swims incessantly against the tide of common sense, and cannot see after blowing so hard for so long in the direction of so much dismay resentment and animosity.
That is not the action of a true supporter or indeed a sane individual, so please spare your lectures for your fellow class of residents.
With me it doesn't wash.

If you are going to debate a point at least use like for like. For starters Nigel Wright is no Wayne Bennett, so to try and use the two in the same context is like trying to say Hitler and Saddam Hussien were not tyrants, they were just misunderstood.
Whether the Barrow chairman is a mad man or not, results dictate whether a coach is a failure and therefore it doesn't matter.
So by virtue of your argument then John Kear has been a resounding success. If you are going argue Wright versus Agar as non-failure versus failure then argue them on a level footing. What about Agar's York record versus Wright's Barrow record. Barrow being the more affluent (that means richer) club.
I am not overwhelmed by the prospect of Agar being our next club, but I fail to see how the appointment of Nigel Wright is any more a bigger step in the right direction.

| I don't think that Agar is such a bad coach, the I'll feeling comes from being lied to, you can't turn round to your supporters at a meeting saying Agar will not be coach and then 2 weeks later appoint him, you can't say in the press we are looking for a coach who will bring the youngsters through and then employ a coach who has brought in 1 or 2 over the space if 3 years. I would have given any of a Wright, poching or Franny a 3 year deal with someone else more senior in experience as a director role to help guide them through the early months, by appointing Agar if they do they have basically lied to the fans, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the reason why most wanted rid of Ted that and the jobs for the boys mentality? Well if Agar gets the job then the culture is still here.

| In answer to the question.
I would expect if the Agar appointment is confirmed,we at least give the guy a chance and support him.
No,he wouldnt have been my first choice, but you dont always get your first choice, otherwise Millward would have been announced as our new coach last week.
Away from the pressure and expectation that is Hull FC,it may just suit him.
Some of the ranting on here is beyond belief.

Well done.
Now back to the debate seeing as I'm now involved. It could be worse it could be better.
If it's Agar lets judge him after half a season and not before. Who really knows, he may well be the man for all we know.
He's not my choice but it's not my club and it's not my money. I never really wanted Kear to leave but as you say I seemed to be swimming against the tide. In the it seemed a forgone conclusion that Kear was going so there seemed no point trying to back him - judging by the last few month that seems to be his attitude. In the end we had to change and with that always comes a risk and a lot of people whose noses are put out of joint. Kear proved many doubters wrong as I don't think he was a popular choice at the time - hope Agar does the same.

Why is it a problem to be running at full salary cap in 3 years? It will only happen if the people come through the gates and Glover is doing his best to make it a very good price to get in with the season ticket offer.
The meeting also announced Glover's intention to redevelop Belle Vue to the tune of £500,000 to help keep us in SL. You are grasping at straws by suggesting that the work wont be done you have no way of knowing that this will be the case. If you are trolling you are doing a very good job if not then I pity you!
