sorry bud it was our intention to change to gala on monday thinking all fixtures would of been played , being a top contributor to the thread it would of been left open out of plain courtesy if id of know .

sounds like yet again another example that next season looks like its gonna be a very tight one , a new lad turned at the all blacks big and mobile played 8 for hunslet for the last 4 years or so but logistics again have got in his way . i seem to remember the lad looks quite handy . this is as we spoke about the close season a lot of movement will take place

will be a good day i should think testing the lads the telford lads look tasty on the web site but don't know which wigan or chorley team were playing. remind gadge n lance that ste is elsewhere tonight as its last Thursday in month

great night on Friday at stanley rangers where the under 9s were rewarded for a fantastic season that started promising got really tough then finished with a flourish of wins due to the fact that its a team of flare. no awards given for individual performances instead all 16ish plus players or so mentioned for their own contribution .

come home whilst 15s are playing , apparently young mutts is still up there playing with mini sponge , however i hear it on good authority that Stevie "6 billion dollar man" Austin is still heading for the try line after his 60 yard intercept

Great day yesterday , didn't think I'd ever get a tan up at crigg !
The rugby was brill too , have to say , our lads were fantastic - listened to everything that they were being told & tried moves that they'd been trying in training & it all came off v. well .
Telford raiders were a nice suprise , there's only 4 teams in their area but they passed the ball about very well ( nice parents too) .
3 wins out of 3 against good opposition - the lads should feel very proud of themselves .
The pitch was bone hard but young mutts seemed to find some wet cement to run through as he dashed (!) to the line - definitely a highlight of the day . My personal favourite was a cocky lad from East Leeds who thought he was the bees knees getting himself sent off in the final under 15's game - absolute pillock ! ( had a few by then mind so probably celebrated this a bit louder than I normally would of !)

we had a great day over at shaw cross,7s rugby in that heat certainly took its toll on the players,we had two teams playing completley random drawn from a bag with the team playing in black winning 1 drawing 2 and losing two whilst our team in white won 4 and drew 1 the same has shaw cross but we had a far supierior points difference +56 from 5 games.

either way great entertainment from all the teams involved and 12 of our 17 players got on the scoresheet which will hopefully give them huge confidence.

yep i think that's why he didn't come home last night lol

but a great end to great season for me that saw my liccle one grow in every department and the big lad have his swan song with rangers and return home to the all blacks . lets hope the 12s end with more of this many thanks to mrs sponge for the image which i have ruthlessly stolen after being sent it on face book

its big decision time tonight when we know what the format for the future will be,from what ive been told its proposed that its friendly games until the end of november starting sept 3rd for all juniors upto u15s

with u16s u17s u18s remaining in a winter league for the forseable future.

the u12s,13s,14,15s will then start their league games in march with a proposed 10 or 12 team league in their respective league,the numbers are unknown for two reasons firstly the pennine league remains in winter and many clubs such has fryston,normanton to name two have made the move over to that league has they dont want summer rugby,secondly their is talk that yorkshire juniors could be on the verge of merging with the humberside league.

all sounds interesting but i suppose we will all know in the next few days.

Chuffin hell - hope it just stays as it is . I know our lads can't wait for competitive rugby to start .It's not just that though , your'e not only gonna need a big squad to cover holidays but more important than that , we've had more injuries than ever playing on the hard pitches at the end of the season .Another month and i don't think we'd have anyone left !

got told that was nailed on the other week , mentioned it to spongy and got chased down the crigg slope by many angry daddies..unlike some i can mention i showed a clean pair off ells and did one but i might just have to wear my told ya so t-shirt at training tuesday



although the merger is news to me , the Normy is not ....expect an influx of peed of parents bringing liccle jimmy to your club as the away trips are gonna be to much for the 8s 9s 10s 11s to put into "friendlies" IMHO

my lads team the new under 14s at Stanley will be going to summer rugby next year,
short season sept to aug then start in march

talks of a premier league which will mean a merge between leagues

im all for t-shirt weather as a touch liner but i think 1 very very bad winter as sent cash hungry clubs O T T.

i know many clubs missed out on massive financial input not only the current credit climate clamping down on the Friday sky nights at the club houses but the amount of junior games in November / December as virtually nil due to frozen pitches or at very best flooded pitches but what will summer provide as a reverse in consequence.

if we have glories summers with red hot days and not rain , the fields will be rock hard dusty and as near to raw concrete with grass as your gonna get and armature RL especially at junior level can not sustain the ground maintenance . failing that your gonna get nice days where grandma flo & co take billy bob and family to the caravan on a weekend. 2 weeks away at skeggy for some , bar b-qs for mums n dads .... in short a hiding to nothing

may look nice on paper but rugby players were taught to dive in mud for a reason . i just hope n pray it don't go belly up cos its our kids who suffer and the collars and pen pushes who just blush and say whoops.

not sure the summer league will go down well with Lewis, he loved the winter months in the mud

i know where your coming from with the injuries we`ve finished the year with 1 lad in pot with a broken foot and another needing physio for ankle ligament dammage which is very worrying,a big squad is a must has they get older and whilst you will see more impact injuries lets not forget that injuries will happen any time of the year its just the nature of the game.

sounds like a great day of kids rugby down at BV today with loft house gate running out winners to hendal primary in a good final who to there credit only had 1 club affiliated player and 1 ex player both of crigg. teams from around the district including cas n fev gave many of the lads their first ever taste of contact rugby and playing with the "big boys" lol. well done to all from hendal 2nd seems to of been a trend this year guys from rounders to basketball but hey-ho its been great fun shame i missed this one .
