I think Sunday or Saturday evenings are best.

I think we like Sundays plus, it saves on the electricity bill, on of the reasons for moving to 3.0 pm ko instead of 3.30.
Friday night would certainly increase the cost of floodlights and generally we seem to sell out the corporate side anyway ?

We like Sunday matches but most of SL now prefer Fri nights so they must be something in it, making most of the corporates and a longer turn around seem to sway the decision for most of SL.

Just reading the Hudds board they're also selling their season tickets for £119 atm. From what someone said it seems Davy got fed up of Sky changing games from Saturday to Friday so they've just made them Friday to avoid getting messed around.

You're not gonna please everyone whatever you do but if they were all Fridays I'd be stumped as I DJ every Friday night in Wakefield so wouldn't be able to get to any home games. Sunday afternoon in the Belle Vue sunshine is a tradition associated with 3 generations of my family and long may it continue.

Should definitely aim to play as many as possible on a Sunday afternoon. The Friday night games aren't exactly ideal for families and attracting the younger supporters.
Also, we may attract the odd fan from the other SL clubs who have played. I know I've gone to watch other clubs on a Sunday when I've got nothing else on.

I think sunday afternoons were perfect for a winter season when there was very little else to do on a sunday afternoon, but during summer months it is nice to take the kids away for the day/weekend and sunday afternoon games leave you with an either or decision whereas a friday night game may allow both.

As much as people prefer having games on a Sunday afternoon, you only have to look at the teams who play all their games on a Friday to see that it's obviously better for most clubs financially to play on a Friday. Having more people in corporate hospitality brings in vastly more money than all the groups of supporter you listed combined. If we ever do get round to getting a stadium upgrade then we'd probably be better off switching to Friday's once we've got some decent hospitality.

I'd be happier with a Friday night as it fits in better with my family life now, however, in years to come, when my little lad wants to come to games then Sunday Afternoon is loads better

You'll never please everyone, but looking at the club's who play almost exclusively on Thurs/Fri night and they're all towards the top of the league, they wouldn't play on a Friday if it wasn't worth it financially to them

Perhaps the more successful clubs choose to play on Friday nights as they have a healthy home support and don't need to rely as much on travelling fans to boost gates. Travelling on a Friday is a nightmare. I've twice set off from the Midlands, in plenty of time, to go to Belle Vue and turned round and gone back home, knowing I wouldn't make the kick off after being stuck for hours on the M1. I would think it's an issue for anybody who works and can't set off extra early.

Is it just us cas & Leigh that has Sunday as preferred match day in SL?

I think Friday nights exclude a large proportion of people even if they are pay on the gate people. How are we going to get the next generation of supporters hooked when the kids are in bed or the fans (away and home (speaking for myself here)) are stuck on the M62!

I think as a club, who don't get the same gate receipts as say Hull or Wigan say, but rely heavily on gate receipts, as a club we need to strive to play our games when thee crowd is likely to be bigger.

In my opinion, that is a Sunday.

Thursday's and Fridays, for me, for example, if we are away, unfortunately it is a big no no, as I don't finish work until 5.30, and trying to get across to say Warrington in time would be virtually impossible at Friday rush hour. I'm sure there are fans that would travel the other way that are in the same predicament.

Also, there are a lot of kids that go to games, and if any of those go alone, would you like your kid to be walking home from the ground approaching 10 at night. Also if it is a Thursday game, this is a scohool night, and as a parent, kids do need a routine.

The only thing that I would say against this is that, if "everyone else" is playing on Fridays, their supporters will get used to going to matches then, regardless of whether they are home or away.
There is no denying that going over to "Lancashire" on a Friday is a total pain and there may be some loss of support from fans coming the other way (especially Wigan, whose fans couldnt be d to go to a semi final at Doncaster on a Friday) but, if Friday becomes everyones rugby night, there may be something in switching and it would certainly reduce the disruption of televised games.
Personally, there is nothing better than Sunday afternoon, decent weather and watching Trinity win at home, it doesnt get better than that and it sets up the week ahead.

I think everyone has different reasons for their preferred match days I used to prefer Sundays as it was part of an all day session now I prefer Friday nights especially in summer as it leaves the weekend for family time.

It looks like we only have 5 Sunday games all season and that includes Leeds at home which we generally move to a Friday evening, so it could be 4.

I agree with Kevs Head Sunday afternoon for me and my family due to our distance to travel plus can't afford taking time off work for Friday night games....shame only 4 X Sunday games all season.

Ditto. Sadly just can't make most thursday/friday games because of work and saturdays are taken up with the family. I also think sky have only picked the thursday games for later on in the season up to press, they choose most of the friday games closer to the time. That means we could have even less sunday games yet.

Also noticed we are on sky 10 times already. Bit of a change from this year.

Maybe MC kicked up a bit of a stink after how we were shafted by Sky.
Was it 3 or 4 times in the season and 2 of those were at the last minute (and will have cost significant attendance numbers).

Maybe this is to balance things out ?

Iggy, we did announce Saturday at 6 p.m. as our preferred day to play. However, we have only ended up with 3 Saturday home games - plus 3 on Thursday, 3 on Friday, 1 on Sunday, and 2 on Monday. Sadly, the RFL fixture planners haven't given us any on Tuesday, or Wednesday. No sense of adventure there!
