The bit missing was "if Wakefield can quadruple what they are currently paying me!"
As much as i would love us to sign him, at the end of the season, if he stays fit, there will be a queue both here and in Australia to snap him up on money that we simply cant afford.
Its a seriuos coup having him at all, when you consider Saints are having to look at bringing a reserve grader over from Oz to fill the full back position for them. The club has played a blinder really.

He's probably listening on the radio since his life time membership was revoked by the club (previous owner) as a cost cutting excercise.

If that is true the current owner ought to revoke it instantly, absolutely disgusting.

| Disrespectful comments re Salford, particularly as 99% of fans stood by him and supported him throughout his injuries. Infact since he left he hasn't once thanked the supporters, bad form from a player that was picking up £5,000 per week.
I thought he had a decent game on Wednesday too (certainly wasn't MOM, Miller was by a distance) considering it was his first one in 8 weeks. My only concern was his lack of pace when he made a break, he looked exactly the same when he was with us and I wonder whether the injuries have taken their toll on his speed.
Will add some extra spice (if it needed it) for when we meet in the 8.

Saints are still paying Shannon and lomax to sit on their s for rest of season with little cap space left. This is why they can only go the cheap route. Out of cap space left our smaller budget left more room. It was a question of having Brian Smith in charge and having some fortunate timing.

| Under the clean slate approach by Brian Smith I would have thought Craig Hall may have been given a run at centre this Sunday? Although the last I heard was that he was injured weeks ago.

| Don't get too excited... Locke to be honest wasn't treated brilliantly by the Salford club, but was treated very well by the fans. The supporters were desperate for him to show what he had, but unfortunately... injuries were too much for him. This was realised by Salford who then needed to move him on or risk paying £5k per week for somebody to sit on the sidelines. They tried everything and in the end had to resort to poor tactics in order for him to make the first move and walk.
The problem is then... nobody is willing to take a punt on him until he proves himself. He needs games and needs to show he can still do this without injury. So... he signs for Wakefield as he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. If he performs and stays injury free... then maybe a big club will come in for him. Personally I can't see it... he's not been fit for 2 years, and will probably never be the player he was again.
He's putting himself in the shop window and making all the right noises to endear him to the supporters... He's a very clever man.

If the amount we are rumoured to be paying him is true, i guarantee you Locke will definitely be the cheaper option of the 2 and he was already in the country.
Great bit of business.

I don't think anyone is under any illusion that he's only here for the short term, because he found himself at a loose end, and not due to a lifelong dream to play for Wakefield Trinity...
As for the shop window stuff - nothing clever about that; it's what all players do when they're looking for a new contract; if that happens to help us stay up along the way, then nobody loses.

No, Barry Santana is also known as Barry Huffingley, not Houghingley.
