I agree with the sentiment and also give him a run at stand off . However as far as I can see club offered him a deal with a fixed cut off, he didn’t accept it so the club recruited elsewhere. Call me a cynic but guess no one else wanted to offer him a better deal and now he’s very keen to stay . Wonder if this is why the club is open to offers on Reynolds ?

Would love Rocky to stay, but I concur with others play him at no 6 with Max regularly at no1 and make Milky fight for his place.

You'd have to be blind not to see that he was offered a deal by the club which was well documented, what wasn't said by the club though was that it no negotiations on the deal a straight take it or leave it.

Just one other point for you to think about you old cynic, three that's 3 different clubs whom I won't name offered Hampshire a better deal than what was on the table at the club, which he turned down because he wanted to stay at Wakey, maybe they need to get rid of Reynolds because they have put another offer back on the table for Rocky, you'll need to ask somebody in the know about that one.

I d be happy if he stayed - but with jowitt walker brough Reynolds miller would be one too many .

It still all depends on the money. If he wants the kind of money we could spend to get Cooper Cronk over for one last season then probably not but if he wants a salary that is in the top half of our squad then I probably would.....but not top. There are others above him.

IMO only Big Dave and Johnstone would be above him. Maybe BT as well.

I would look to keep him and play him at 6 0r 7. unfortunately we havnt seen enough of Reynolds but hes not let the team down on his odd appearance . miller was on the bench for a while a couple of seasons ago and from memory always looked sharp. A quick question hasn't Brough played hooker on the odd occasion.

Teams are making a b-line for him now. Defence would be a bigger issue if Broughy went into the hooking role

I am beginning to question what Chester was thinking to believe that swapping Hampshire for Roberts would improve our performances. If he thinks Hampshire is the problem then I fear for our survival.

What if he was happy to sign for say 60% of the money that the likes of Koppy/Wood take home? Hypothetically ...

The problem is everyone has an opinio, me included, without knowing what that number is.

After reading RLE I got the impression that Rocky really wanted to stay. Well if he was that passionate about “playing for his home town club” why oh why
didn’t he sign before May 31st. Then Wakefield didn’t need to sign Walker.
With Broughy and Miller not firing he would have been in a better position to try other options.

I think he was hooker in Hull's CC final victory over Leeds in 2005.

Guess if Reynolds sign s for Leigh as reported will free up both his wage or majority therein , and create a space for Hampshire - I d be pleased with that

IF the club were serious about the deadline that was set for Hampshire signing and he didn't sign, surely, they will have made plans for his replacement, be that Walker from London or someone else.
I like Hampshire's busy style and as a running HB he has looked more likely than any of our other pivots to break open opposition defences BUT and it's a huge but, if the lad wont accept what has been offered and the club believe that the offer is reasonable, then the lad will be off, just as soon as someone makes him a better offer.
Nobody could blame him for doing so as RL is a short career but, equally, you cant have your halves always on the brink of leaving.
Now, more than ever, we need some stability (and quality) in the halves.
Brough looks to be past his sell by date and Miller, for whatever reason just hasn't offered his usual contribution.

I guess only Chester and the coaching staff know why we have been poor in the halves but, on current form and based on what we should "expect", Brough is offering lease, with Miller next worst and Hampshire 3rd.

Certainly worth having a re shuffle for our remaining games

I'm sure I've read somewhere that he has been offered better terms at other club/s (?) but he has turned them down and wants to stay with us ??

So he clearly doesn't want to leave, so we just have to hope that all the relevant parties can get back around the table and thrash out a deal

I like the lad, but he definitely needs to be playing at half back.Think he did all right at fullback but was exposed against Cas.What you get with Ryan is a bundle of energy with blistering pace and bags of enthusiasm.I still have slight doubts about his organisational skills but also remember tries scored from some of his excellent passes.I've grown to like his endeavour and will to win and have started to think, like others have said, that he could develop into a top player.Another big plus which can't be underestimated is his top notch goal kicking and also the massive fact that he is one of US.Bearing in mind that he has said he really wants to stay,I hope that a compromise between himself and MC can get a deal sorted.

I have a bit of inside info on this, doesn't happen much. Can't guarantee it 100% but this is what I've been told, well not exactly as that wouldn't be fair.

He's been offered a three-year deal at an annual wage roughly equivalent to what an Arriva bus driver gets if he does a good wallop of overtime. This is more than you might think but not a king's ransom, certainly not for a career that is short. Don't know if there are any added incentives but that's what I'm told. I'm told Ryan wants that upped by 2k and he will sign.

I know its all about budgets and team requirements, but compared to what we have wasted on some Aussie players and general has-beens through the years it sounds good value to me.

Again its what I've heard from a good source but nothing close to the horse's mouth so I accept it could be totally wrong, in which case I apologise in advance.

The truth is that he was offerred a deal 85 days ago and has never come back with a response other then after 70 days, it’s not enough via his agent.

So have you made him an increased offer?
