Well how about making it free admission for adults aswell as children then?

How about counting the number of adults who attend and times it by the £3 they are wanting to charge and then split the cost between the players and coaching staff..

That would be more of a thankyou for the fans and in some way an apology for the absolute dire performances they are turning in week in week out!

Think this event has always been free and this year they are charging.

I think it is a dangerous exercise to be honest. An altercation must be on the horizon.

Used to attend these but won't be paying for this one, want some pride and passion not a apology.

I'm not sure what attendance will be but the posters won't get many.

They are very noticable and are all over town, which is great.....but the smallest writing on the poster is the date! If you are in a car which is the point given their locations, unless you pull up right next to it, you can't see it.
The date should be the biggest wording not the smallest. Basic marketing 101.

Were you in my car on Saturday?! I said exactly the same thing to my Mrs as we drove past one - there's too much dense text on the poster and you can't make out the date. Schoolboy error from our fabulous 'marketing team.'

Is it a case of making something look fancy and exciting without making the key information clear? What happened to that poster who was a massive fan of the work the marketing bod did? They disappeared sharpish!

I would just like to reply to some threads on here. Wakefield Wildcats Family Fun Day will be the biggest family day the club has put on in years with a star attraction in Stavros Flatley. The club will be charging a small fee (price of a pint) to cover the cost in making this day a fun and enjoyable day for all.

A lot of effort as gone into this event, PC Mick Amos and Sarah Robinson with support from WISCA have gone the extra mile in making this event better than previous years. It would be a shame for supporters not to show up, the club needs all its supporters to get behind this event.

I agree, hence my exasperation at the rubbish poster; given the importance of the event, how come noone noticed that it's barely legible unless you're standing 6 inches in front of it and squinting!?

at least you noticed the poster HA, the posters were put around the city merely to raise the profile of the event and to get people talking. This certainly worked as my family commented as did my neighbour. It would be great to have an A1 board but that would be taking the P$@s.

We make every effort with the budget we have to market the club in the best way we can. This generally means doing the simple things like linking up with partners but other than that you need a small fortune. The best marketing is perception, if people speak positively about something then people want some of it.

Granted we are struggling on the field but still in with a fighting chance of a top 8 finish, the club off the field is doing well, the stadium looks very positive so we are Ok.

Wakefield Wildcats Family Fun Day will be a good day, a chance for the fans to enjoy a week off from Super League supporting a great club and great event.

I admire your optimism, and attitude Davide I wish the rest at WTW would show the same, fighting chance of top 8 id love to see some of the players put in some fighting attitude.

now I feel very bad about all the nasty things I have said about the club, but mostly about you Mr Longo. I will ofcourse be coming with my tribe, and will enjoy myself very much, and be happy right up to the hearing the whistle for the next kick off

I reckon most posters know that you guys put the effort in, no doubt in my mind its the shining light at the club and Micks told me how much efforts been put it.

I have no interest in Stavros Flatley but i hope it attracts fans and is a success. Meeting the players is not something i feel the need to do.

Season ticket, shirts, academy games, away games, golden gamble, lottery, Squadbuilder and shocking performance on the pitch leaves me with a drink problem

so my £3 is going on that pint.

A lot of effort indeed! I don't think there is a lampost in Crigglestone, Durkar or Wakefield for that matter, that isn't advertising the event. A big well done to the club! Just a shame that the players are letting everyone down at the moment and despite John's words yesterday, they are badly letting everyone down. I've NEVER experienced a period in all the 42 years in watching Wakefield in which I feel so low. Good luck with the event. If I am there it will be because the kids have made the decision, not me.

I hope the event goes well, the people doing the hard work promoting it deserve it, plus the club needs all the money it can get at the moment. However, I am looking forward to a Wakefield Trinity free weekend and I am still seething at the lack of effort and passion last Sunday at Hudds.

I like most fans are hurting and appreciate people deal with this in different ways. I think everyone can agree the off field community department is up there with the best in SL. Last season we had the on field success too from all teams at WW. This season hasn't lived upto expectations and i hope like all others they pull something out of the bag in the last 3 games! I said i wasnt going to another away game this season chumping to my Dad. Ive calmed down, picked up my dummy, had a few Guinness and will be going again!

This event is without doubt the biggest Family Fun Day the club has put on - Stavros Flatley, Cheerleaders, Wildcat Dolls, and other perfomances, 5 Engage Inflatables, local bands, BBQ, Players, 15-20 Fairground Type stalls Coconut shy, asteroid blaster, football shot, basketball shot, tin can alley, archery, quoits, lawn darts, skittles, splat the rat, golf put, hook a duck, etal... The prizes arent massive as its more for the fun but its only 50p a go to encourage participation! Have some fun and lift the gloom, laugh, joke, have banter - I'll start!!

Although fans are a little down it would be great to see you all there and if your umming and arring whether to or not, come for the intrigue, support the club and community department that work so hard and see what you think. However if you dont want to or cant, enjoy your weekend anyway, lifes too short..
