I've calmed down a bit!

In the aftermath of the abysmal performance against the Crusaders and whilst still enraged by the complete absence of any kind of passion, skill, application or professionalism, I wrote the following:



now having slept and had time to consider the performance this is what I believe should be done and what I would do if this were my team, here are my thoughts.

Tronc should be made to travel and run the kicking tee on.
Millard should be given a week to consider whether he wants to be here and whether he wants to put the effort in.
JD needs to think about whether he can still contribute or are we allowing his loyalty and our affection to hurt the team effort.

One or two others ought to be thinking themselves lucky and should be told as much in no uncertain terms.
Being a nice family club is all well and good but t's not a holiday camp!

Pretty much agree with that Clan, I personally would maybe stick with JD and try and let him get into some form, thought he was one of the better performers the other day.

That 17 gets back to what we should be aiming to achieve though...i.e.. 12 British players!

Said on another thread Blaymire is likely to miss out (hamstring), so probably have to bring "Magic" back or Gleeson and move Murphy to FB.

If we ain't getting through to the players, then they obviously aren't paying attention.

Despite his defensive frailties my preference would be to bring Sean Gleeson back, I'm so disappointed with Millard.

I know that TRB has posted some statistics which show his performances in a decent light and that's all well and good but the reality is that he's underperforming.

He's getting away with doing almost enough and I know he's better than that,which is why I say he needs to look at himself in the mirror and ask whether he wants to do the extra work required to be at his best.

Instead of just coasting along he should be commanding the ball and making things happen because he's good enough to do that.

I agree about the coasting remark definately seems like he's playing within himself, although the 5 drives and a kick style of play we are playing atm isn't likely to get the best out of him IMO.

There was something about Morro breaking his thumb in one of the RL papers so I doubt he will be playing

To be fair to JD he had a decent game on Sunday and he should play.

Leo Latu if picked should be interchange hooker and nothing more !!!!

We need to get away from the square peg in round hole scenario..

If Hyde is a natural fullback and nearly ready for 1st team then lets give him a try in his natural position. Murphy looks a very naturally gifted centre so lets play him there and not keep swapping him about.

Lets play a natural hooker (Davey) who will give good distribution and get the forwards going forward at hooker.

Lets have an impact hooker (Latu) on the bench to come on and make an impact.

Lets have Gledhill...a raw, aggressive, hungry prop in a shirt instead of Tronc who has given up...

All no-brainers to me.

Spot on there pal and without wanting to tell JK how to do his job, the only way we're going to get out of this rut we're in is by changing the team, i.e. fielding players who genuinely want to be on the pitch rather than mercenaries treating our sport as a cheap folly.

Pity if Moore's out though - Gledhill in for Tronc is good for me, but who comes in for Moore?

Shame about Moore. He really seems to have been hitting the straps recently after the illness he suffered last year.

I'd like to see Cooke at 13, Obst at 6 or 7 depending on where we see BJ playing now with Latu and Davey rotating 9. Kirmond will take time to get fit so i'd get him in the team for the cup games.

Kyle Bibb seems to have returned from his loan spell at Harlequins. I know that he is not any where near the standard of Richard Moore or even Hendo, but if we are short of numbers then maybe he will get a game.

I think that's a pretty good call. Given Millard's recent lack of enthusiasm, missing out might do him some good. With the injuries/absentees we have at the minute we're down to the bare bones, although could be a blessing in disguise if some of the youngsters can take their opportunity.
