| I don’t see a problem with phased builds and it’s something the RFL should consider. 11K would be more then enough for Cas (and Trinity) and a brand new 2 sided 11K stadium would be far better then what they have now.

| Doesn't bother me. As already said, something is better than nothing and still underlines our commitment to the project. I think phasing is the best way to be honest. Ideally, I'd like it all in one but obviously finances dictate otherwise.

| It might be that there is a temporary ground share if the stadium is still going to be built, as the Community Trust won't turn tenants away, even temporary ones, I would imagine.

True, but there was certainly a good amount of crowing from the Cas fans when TP went t!ts up.

Not from the ones that I would be bothered about. A few people poking fun on here does not render the whole lot as selfish - and I hope that we will not all end up being tarred with the same brush as those who would seek to point score at their bad turn.

Half a dozen muppets on here, don't think any of the Cas fans that have posted so far fit the bill.

| =#8000FF2 or 3 sided stadium with phasing for 1 or 2 more isn't exactly the end of the world is it? 2 stands could still break 12k leaving 2 smaller 1k stands say behind the goals.

the stobart stadium was built with 3 sides then followed by a 4th a couple of seasons later, so it is feasable

| It would make common sense for Cas to come on board with the Stanley project at least in the short term. If both clubs commit to the project it will give it greater strength to move forward.
A short term tenancy at Stanley won't be the end of the world for Cas. Once there with another 3 years franchise they can use the time complete the Glasshoughton development.

| The bit I don’t understand is where R.W. says the club may have to ask Red Hall for flexibility, due to downturn in the housing market.
I was under the impression that Wheldon Road was part of the blast zone from the Hicksons site & couldn’t be developed until the Chemical licence was revoked?

That's ok if Cas can sort the funding issue before the 3rd franchise applications need to be worked on, but as a significant proportion of that is likely to be coming from the sale of The Jungle whoever is developing the Hicksons site will need to have made some progress, otherwise the fact that The Jungle is in the Hicksons blast zone will reduce the potential use of the land and therefore the potential value.
I can't see Waystone wanting to hold on indefintely with the Glasshoughton site (they wanted Wakey to sign up after TP fell through because we still had certainty over funding from the sale of BV and that would allow the development to commence).
Personally I'd have no problem sharing Newmarket Lane with Cas, but I'm sure that there's plenty of Cas fans wouldn't like to see it - just like I wouldn't be too keen on us sharing a stadium at Glasshoughton.

Cas fans, like Wakey fans, have more respect for bricks and mortar. Wright would be better served focusing his full attention on delivering his own project, and avoiding distractions from attractive neighbours.

| Good luck to them, its not easy in these current economic times.
I know the RFL and moreso the rugby league community would not look favourably on it if we start wanting to 'move the goalposts' so to speak in not delivering a full stadium on time this time round what with all the supposed promises/claims in the past.

| It really is a no brainer and if the RFL and there franchise system has to keep any credibility then Cas must go and Widnes in. Teams in the championship have managed new stadiums, Widnes being 1 Halifax and the magnificent Leigh Stadium. That without 1.3 million of sky. I think its a bit rich teams now blaming the recession how have these teams managed it then.

A fact lost on many who criticise clubs who do not have the luxury of being under the jurisdiction of a council who is in the fortunate position to be able to construct such things.

Correct. The Galpharm was built by Kirkleess, the KC by Kingston Communications, the Halliwell Jones on the back of a Tesco. No rugby club can afford to build its own stadiums but it seems that whether one is in SL or not depends on whether you have nice plastic seats rather that what happens on the field.
Being in SL will come down to whether you have been fortunate to have a stadium provided for you rather than abilty.

| i wouldn't like to see a ground share with us and cas because i think that "merger" would spring up again. the rfl would love to revoke 1 of the licences and give it to widnes / leigh / halifax or even a club somewhere else.
i have noticed that tigerman hasn't posted yet !
hope that they get it sorted because i do enjoy the derby games.
