Its noticable the Warrington support has dropped right off. I know it was on the tele but against FC there looked to be less than a couple of hundred of them. And they didnt exactly fill BV either.

Maybe the clubs should try and have more offers as lots of us have been hit by redundancy etc

It's almost like there's some kind of global economic crisis...

Lets not forget that your average bloke on the street has a far less disposable cash on him than at any time in the last 20 years.

Combine that with a perceived drop in standards at the Bulls and some underachieving at the Wolves you get disenchanted fans who watch on TV or pick and choose their games.

The same will be true to a greater or lesser extent at every club in every sport unless you're Man Utd.

i got to be really honest i find it a struggle now to findthe extra cash to come thru from goole , entrance fee n something to drink, i having to pick and choose my games n it not thru choice or that i dont want to be there just i can't afford every game like i used to, the prices have gone up but wages havent i afraid and i don't just mean rugby prices ,bills and cost of living has too, as clan says just don't have the expendable money like two years ago, iwould love wakey to do some special promotions get people in the ground and hope they make the money on burgers drink progs ect , just an idea tho

Not so easy if you're not being bank rolled. We could not afford to discount all season ticket as the risk would be that not enough people would take up the offer to make it viable. Hudds don't have to worry so much about this.

In rugby league, we have the greatest sporting spectacle in the world, and it is a shame that we have not been able to make inroads into the communities that populate many of the so-called heartland towns and cities. If someone is prepared to cross that white line with a rugby ball in their hand, I salute you, regardless of level, ethinicity, religion, etc. To post anything that suggests that someone from a non-white background is unwelcome at a rugby league event shows a lack of knowledge of a game that has always ignored colour prejudices, that was fielding black players decades before the Merseyside football teams were able to applaud themselves for not throwing banana skins onto the pitch for doing the same, and was the first Great Britain team to have a non-white captain in Ellery Hanley. And this comment came from someone who supports a team that has played in a ground that has been in a diverse neighbourhood for decades that has rarely objected to our presence and disruption that we cause.
I lived in St Catherine Street in the early 1970's, and it was as diverse then as it is now, and so shame on you.

apologies...comment about the merseyside teams i don't understand. i was a liverpool season ticket holder throughout the 80's and never saw or heard any racial abuse...my earlier comment was wrong and i apologise !..town still smells though!

I seem to remember that John Barnes was the first black player Liverpool signed, and there was some disquiet about that. The fact that he turned out to be a fan favourite helped enormously, but I remember some disquiet at his signing. Having said that, Everton waited even longer, I think.

Huddersfield is lacking in many other ways, and therefore I have no issue with your view that it is a generally sub-standard town that props a team that is undeserving of the town's affection.



Just while we are on the issue of diversity, I do think that this is one area that the rugby league ought to target. We are not and have never been a racist sport. The game is big (I think) in the former Soviet Union states, the inhabitants of which are making communities in England. There must be a market there.
