I have to agree. What the club, and him as main coach have gone through is unbelievable, but each time he shows respect, compassion, loyalty to the players and emotion. How you would be able to coach players in these circumstances is unknown, but he managed it last time, and I hope he succeeds again.

| He was genuinely upset on 5 live but handled it well. He appears to have handled a lot ofd the adversity really well and showed that he is a very decent and honourable bloke.

| John Kear is all class. The way the guy handles adversity, and somehow manages to take himself and his team onwards is unbelievable, god forbid but if anything ever happened at our club I hope Mick Potter would act in the same way. Certain coaches in other sports should follow John Kear's lead when complaining about something trivial like a turned down penalty.

Takes a special person to do this. Respect/honesty/courage/understanding.
It must be taking its toll on him and the backroom staff and players.

| John Kear is not only a fantastic ambassador to the Wakefield Wildcats, but also to RL as well
IMO John is one of the most respected RL personalities from our game, and always enhances our great game whenever he is interviewed on national TV
I'm pretty sure that John will have the side primed for this weekends game, he will hopefully use this weekends sad death of Leon Walker as a motivational tool to celebrate the young players life in the best possible way, and to beat the Saints
Your former coach John Harbin once referred to coaching the club as being likened to being "[i To the university of adversity[/i"
That statement is probably more true now than it ever was before!
IMO John Kear has been through circumstances at the club that no one would ever expect a club coach to have to deal with, He has not only handled these very sad situations with great dignity, but he has also pulled this great, proud club closer together

We all judge coaches on results and games, it just shows how much we don't see in them untill this sort of tradgedy comes along.

The very best thing to happen to the club since I have been a fan.
He has got it tough this week, I know I have said it but will keep on saying it. Our club needs the fans more than ever .

Definitely, I just can't imagine Wakey without John Kear, and the way he has handled everything that has been thrown at him has been unbelievable. He is a top bloke and an excellent role model. With him at the helm I'm sure our club can pull through this very sad time.

| At times i wonder what some people do to get the praise and awards they do, ie MBE's and those who do most dont get recognised. But what this guys done to keep everything together and act in the most dignified, caring and inspiring manor he deserves a knighthood!!!

when John came I knew he would be good for the club, but hes gone further than that, its not only having the knowledge for the game its getting the best from the players to do it

| Even though he has been at Wakey only a relative short time John Kear has shown that he posseses something very special as a coach.
He is sure to rank with Ken Traill as one of the greatest coaches to lead our club in modern times.

John Kear is 1 of the nicest most geniune blokes i have ever met through following my club Hull Fc, would always take time out to speak to the fans at sportsmans dinners etc, as you say held in the highest regard by many in the sport and conducts himself with great dignity on and off the pitch
never forgot what he did for my club in winning the challenge cup for us but the way he handled things at wakefield through all the heartache you as a club have been through speaks volumes for the man, just hope you get a change of luck if any team deserves it it's you guys
Wish you all well, it's really hit me hard so god knows how you guys are coping

| Great post and what a truely fantastic individual John Kear is. When he has retired and looks back on his career he can feel proud on how he handled circumstances no coaches should have to deal with. Also all us Wakefield fans who have faced these difficult times can hold are heads up high because of the support we have shown the club, and those affected.

Totally agree with that. There is no better man in the game that these players could have around them at the moment.
His response to this tragedy expresses the same brand of genuine emotion combined with an articulate personality that he gives week in week out to the game as a whole.
His services to Wakefield and the game deserve genuine recognition.
