I thought it was very interesting. He didn't get chance to talk about Wakefield that much as theyconcentrated on the earlier stuff with Cas and Hull but he spoke well on THAT game and in particular about Adam and Leon. You could see it still affects him.
Comes across as a really nice guy that knows his rugby and how to build a team. I'm trying to support Agar but I always felt that Kear should have been kept on longer.
Hope he does the book that was rumoured.

Ben Cockayne came across a lot better than I thought he would too.

Maybe we did need a change ! Not to finish bottom last year took some bloody skill. Shame people judged Kear on the last year when we were bankrupt unfortunately

. When he had money with the likes of Brough we were a top 6 side. We now have money and we are a bottom 3 side. Kear v Agar no comparison for me.

I thought letting Kear go was the right decision at the time. A fresh start was required to move the club forward plus there were some big name coaches available at the time. When the news broke of Agar's appointment I was thoroughly underwhelmed, disappointed and quoting the old saying 'be careful what you wish for'.

He also took (tried to) the wee wee out of anyone who considered we would finish in the bottom three and thought Danny Kirmond was a crap signing!!!

Back to Kear, many of us judged him, as many of us cast doubt on the decision to hire Agar.

I think many people are beginning to think that.

I was always a big fan of Kear and was sad that he wasn't kept on. I wish him success where ever he goes. Personally, I think he's the best coach we've had since I began watching in 1988.

In fairness, towards the end of last season, most people thought it was time for a change.
However, if we hadn't let Kear go and had to make a direct choice between JK and RA..........well, most would have gone for JK.
Also, it would have been mighty interesting to see how he went with some cash to spend.

Does JK's playing career match these players? Superman od coaches? Definately.

I thought KK nailed his colours to the mast when he wanted to go to the Cats, then he openly stated 5 years was enough. There is nothing to compare at this stage, yes JK kept us up got us to a semi and the play offs all over 5 years. There are some short memories on here loads were calling for his head in sticky patches a fewe seasons ago. He didnt want to stay move on, RA deserves a chance and so far he has not had long enough I agree with other nexts eason is the test at this stage next year if we are where we are now then the coach needs a look at

I don't ever harp back to what I said before because it's easy to crow about being an Oracle because you guessed something once but I was always adament that JK was the right man to take us forward but there weren't many agreeing when times got tough.
Personally it frustrates me how fickle the forum is with posters switching opinion with the wind (or wins!).

Kear had a blazing start and for me is the best coach we have had in my time of watching, and I go back to the 70s.

Now we have Agar he is being treated the same way and unfortunately for him he hasn't been able to have the blazing start to keep him on the right side. I'm not convinced about Agar but I want to give him a 'season long' chance. Not just game to game as some are.

Completely agree. Some fans expect miracles. R.A. needs time. If by this time next year we're in the same position then I agree R.A. should go. WTW have played some good rugby this season but some players have come with good credentials and haven't performed consistently. They need to in this second half of the season otherwise they'll be at a championship club next year or back playing reserve grade in Aus/New Zealand.

No disrespect to JK, but I think SL Supermen has run it's course; all the genuine 'supermen' were done ages ago and now they're a bit short of options.

The addition of Sam Tomkins to the 'team' as a way of increasing his salary so he wouldn't flounce off to Union, further undermines it as a credible RL show; it's not for me.

Don't agree there. Still enjoy it and liking the older guys coming on.
And I'm surprised how good Tomkins is.
