The Tories are certifiably unelectable considering how they’ve managed to butcher Brexit. Will we see any of the candidates down at Belle Vue for there customary fake BS photo shoot?

My only wish is that all the northern MPs who have ignored their constituents in majority leave EU,areas, are decimated on Dec 12th. The likes of Creagh, Cooper, don’t deserve re electing. In this Area only Andrea Jenkins has supported her constituents and she’s a Conservative.

Parliament voted by q huge majority to give the electorate the chioice of leaving or remaining in the EU, the Rererendum result as we all know was to LEAVE.

It was Parliaments job to ensure that we left with the best deal possible but sadly those MP's who didn't agree with the result have done everything possible to undermine the democratic will of the people. Had they carried out their duties we would be out and out in an orderly fashion. Mary Creagh 68% of the Wakefield electorate voted leave she is supposed to represent the Wakefield electorate hopefully the 68% will reward her for her support in the appropriate manner and likewise for the rest who have gone against democracy.

The Labour Party founded to reflect the trade union movement and the working man has virtually no mps that reflect that beginning. An awful lot have more in common with the Bullingham set than they do with their traditional supporters. For most the route to politics has been university , followed by a stint working as an adviser or similar to an mp.

Yet they then cloak themselves as the working man to get into heartland constituencies. Think the one thing that the current parliament is most actually look down their noses at the working man or women and think they are intellectually superior.

Have voted labour and conservative at one time or another - perhaps reflecting my family heritage that had representation in both camps at the battle of orgreave abd can honestly say that this current crop of politicians are quite despicable self interested self serving scum

Completely agree. Let’s not forget now whilst more people are using food banks then ever before, MP’s are getting a pay rise for doing nothing than squabbling pretty much. Then there’s the Grenfell disaster. Both Labour and Conservatives using it for petty point scoring.

During the last election campaign Mary Creagh waltzes into my yard and with a look of glee on her face totally dismissed any chance her labour party had of winning the general election with Jeremy Corbyn as leader. Irrespective of views on Brexit, anybody who votes for the Tories is voting for another five years of austerity, cuts to vital public services, the continued degradation of the NHS and the ‘bonfire of regulations’ (ie. working peoples’ hard earned rights and protection) not to mention real cuts to income caused by a hard, harmful Brexit. Anybody who says, ‘I’ve been a Labour voter all my life but this time I’m going with Boris’ needs to give his/her head a good shake.

No vilification from me, being able to vote for who you want and being free to say you do so is the very basis of democracy. Personally, have not made up my mind yet, mainly because I find it impossible to work out what any of these fakers actually think.

Say what you like about the previous generation of politicians, at least with Thatcher and others you knew why you loved or loathed them and they rarely let you down in that respect. My generation gets bandwagon jumping, social media fawning and often hysterically preaching nobodies whose only desire seems to be to forge a future career in the media or if that fails to get a gig on strictly.

While the conversation was about MPs that do or don't support Wakefield Trinity/Belle Vue I was happy to let it run but once it descends into just a political argument on principles or name calling particular MPs based on tabloid facts it will have to be locked.

Conversely - anyone who wants a Corbyn government with Abbot, Phillips etc having any sort of input need to give their heads a wobble. It matters not in Wakefield and Normanton/Cas, despite overwhelmingly voting leave and being ignored by our Labour MPs, there is no chance the Tories pick up the seats and no other alternative really as lib dem and BXP going nowhere.

Very interesting to see that Mary did not vote in favour of the December 12th General Election, (Shock horror) says it all really doesn't it? Just for a second concentrating on that number one key pressing issue - Brexit. 116,165 leave voters in the Wakefield Constituency 58,800 remain voters in a 71% turnout.

I do not agree with your choice, but I would not vilify you for it because I respect your right to choose what you want.

The vilification of someone who disagrees with you is a major problem with UK politics at the moment. A lot of this comes from the 2016 referendum, but we really need to move on and get politicians who are respected and respect each other.

I would point out that Boris voted twice against the May deal therefore ensuring Brexit did not occur.
The election is not about Brexit which the current PM wants it to be but about how the country is run for the next five years and how it is now. I would suggest you forget Brexit when considering how to vote and think if you are happy with what it is now then vote for the status quo if not then select an alternative.
I will be voting Labour because I don’t like the country now or what it could become even based on his short time as PM. I hear the usual argument how things will be worse under Labour and Corbyn but as pointed out no one knows but what we do is how they are now.

Take Brexit out of the equation and she's been a decent MP for Wakefield.
Although they are in different constituencies, I'd take Creagh over Jenkyns all day long.

As for how the result will affect Trnity, we are more than likely heading for a hung Parliament and in fairness, the local council will have far more say, in what may happen, than the MP's

I'll put it this way if you think there are some bad people around Boris and there are, there are far worse around Corbyn. When I said I hadn't made my mind up what I should have said was I haven't made my mind up to vote Liberal and hopefully blunt both.

What I am certain about is that a Corbyn Britain, especially one outside the EU will send this country to the wall and I think people really need to take this into account. We are at risk of losing markets and investors through Brexit no doubt but with a reactionary stone age socialist like Corbyn in charge we'd have lost the above even without Brexit!

They are the usual arguments because they are true since the end of the war not one single genuinely socialist government anywhere has succeeded in any way. Everyone leaving the countries they took over far worse off than they were before, please name one that hasn't, I'd be fascinated. Remember, especially on the continent, the word 'Social or Socialist' in a parties name doesn't mean they are socialists.

Corbyn’s ‘socialist’ policies - renationalising the railway, boosting public services, a national education service, limited worker ownership etc - are hardly 1960s Soviet era. And, whilst you may not like them, they’re generally pretty popular with voters.

Taking Brexit out of it, I live in Normanton. The Labour candidate is one Yvette Cooper. Can’t exactly vote for her. But the way the Tories have run this country (I agree with you on that) means that I won’t vote for the Tory candidate either. I imagine this a problem a lot of Northern Cities/Towns have.
