| I'd actually rest Collis as well. Noticed his thigh was strapped up again yesterday and despite playing well his mobility in defence looked hampered. We'll get battered by Wigan whether he plays or not so i'd get him fully fit for the games which follow which are Salford and London, then Widnes a fortnight after them. We have to win those or I can see the wooden spoon looming.

| If It were my call, I would make them play. Hardly fair putting the likes of Cowling, Walshaw & Maskill en masse against a side as good as Wigan - this will not do anybody any good. If players are fit enough they should play, then when (presumably) we get a good hiding if the last game and a half is anything to go by, drop those who don't perform in the next 2 games.
I see no good at all in blooding youngsters against a brutal bang in form Wigan unit.

| Let the players who played this week, and who are fit, play next week and let them try make up for yesterdays "performance". Also, Throwing all the young lads in, isn't going to do us any good, nor will it do the confidence of the young lads any good. IF the injuries are going to keep T.Smith, Ali, Kirmo & Aiton out, Id go;
1.) R.Mathers
2.) P.Fox
3.) D.Collis
4.) R.Lyne
5.) B.Cockayne
6.) L.Smith
7.) B.Goulding (Why sign him and not play him?)
8.) J.Poore
9.) K.Wood
10.) A.Raleigh.
11.) V.Mellars
12.) T.Tautai
13.) D.Washbrook
Sub) M.Wildie
Sub) O.Wilkes
Sub) K.Amor
Sub) C.Annakin

first thing I would do in this weeks training is show the team the dvd of the Wigan v Wakefield on 8 February 2009, 100/1 outsiders that went with 17 fit men with passion in there hearts after the sad loss of Adam
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 866951.stm
that was a hard game to win

Raleigh still getting dominated unfortunately out worst prop for a number of weeks.
Washbrook seems to be struggling lately also.
This is assuming Lauititi, T.Smith, Aiton, Kirmond aren't fit.

I tend to agree - no point rewarding presenteeism by giving them the week off.
For me, I'd play the 'best' 17 and make it clear in no uncertain terms that individual performance and attitude in the Wigan game will determine where you sit for the rest of the season.

Agreed but the only one i would 'rest' is Collis as he doesn't look fully fit anyway. If he's 100% fair enough, he plays. But going by the strapping and his movement in defence he isn't and seeing that at present he is our most potent attacking weapon i wouldn't risk it. We need him fully fit for the games that follow Wigan which are emenently more winnable.

| We will get absolutely hammered on Sunday and I doubt that Wigan will put out a first team but they will still slay us. (I have heard that they are weak down the middle because the tea lady and the cleaner are carrying injuries) I would love to be proved wrong but after Saturdays performance I can't see where the next winn will come from.

I dont agree with plsying players out of postion but think TT will offer alot more than washbrook at loose and danny can do what he only does and tackle.and with how mathers set up annikin try last week says to me he could be a good option at s/o.fox needs to be dropped just for standing and watchin carny score and i also think kaye was the best v hemmel and deserves a chance

| Wigan may rest a few.
Tierney,
Charnley, Goulding, Thornley, Richards.
Powell, Smith,
Crosby, L Tomkins, Flower,
Hansen, Farrell,
Burke,
Bench, Mossop, Lauaki, McIlorum, S Tomkins.
Just a guess really, S Wane has said he'd give Lewis Tierney a run out this year and I don't think he'd do that at the DW. If he gives a couple of younger players a run he won't take any risks and stack his bench with players from the first 17.

I don't think it matters what team Wigan put out, they should win comfortably.
