As its been for most of the season.
Hopefully Poching will show some integrity and resign.
Utter shambles.
Carter/Minnards need to accept a lot of the blame for appointing a coach (the cheap option) that is woefully out of his depth.
Forget all the excuses about recruitment blah blah - the last two performances have shown he doesn't have a clue.
The position we are in has been coming since the second half at home against Salford.
Unfortunately i think its too late now (looking at fixtures) to prevent our relegation, even if we did replace Poching.
In a perverse kind of way, i can see the positive side of being relegated, watching Wakefield in Super League on the whole is a waste of time and money and brings very little enjoyment.

| Its not like this has taken us all by suprise, the warning signs have been flashing a while.
I know Brian McDermott applied for the job , i wonder what they saw in Poaching over an experienced guy like him. It certainly was not a money thing because we are paying poaching more than fev are paying mc dermott.
We will never know if things would have been different, but whoever took over had a bum hand player wise, that is not down to poaching .
Anyhow, too late now may aswell accept our predicament and plan for the championship

To be fair this where I am at. If we somehow manage to avoid relegation it will be the same struggle next year. I'm sick of seeing us limp along season after season. Time to find our level because Super League is not it.

| What a sad bunch you are, SL not our level.
The clubs had 6 years to get things right under Carter and just bobble along season after season
Time for him to sell the club for a quid and do one

| For those who were around in the era just after the 60s, followed by the fight to get back into the top flight in the mid 90s and subsequently the euphoria of winning the Grand Final at a Night to Remember over in Huddersfield, I am furious at how we are so apathetic about getting relegated.
We fought so hard to win our place in SL, we kicked the doors in when they tried to deny us, we surpassed all expectations in that 1st season when they refused to offer us any SL money and Andy Kelly’s teams were the epitome of true Wakefield Trinity players, they never buckled to anyone!
I am not looking forward to being relegated and don’t accept that “the club will find its natural level” crap

It would be a refreshing change to play some different clubs next season but only if we invest in a team capable of topping the league.
If we go down the London/Bulls route of part time team we will lose fans quicker than you can imagine.
We need to stay mostly full time and challenge our way back to promotion. A winning team in the league below would be vital and could even grow the fan base with success on the field.
The only thing that would upset me is losing players like Murphy, Hall, Eseh, Shaw etc who look like they can become very good SL players with a couple of years. I would hope we would offer them good full time deals to remain at trinity and get us back promoted.

Tell the players that not the fans who have spent their hard earned money supporting these nobbers play the way they have all year. The fans do there bit and the team and coaching staff aren’t doing there’s. The majority of our SL seasons have been a shower of poo and until we find some money to actually compete than the championship is where we’ll be. I’ll support them

I blame the players to a degree, but then some clown:
-Allowed Chester to waste this years budget on crap
- Gave three year deals to Hood, Lineham and Ashurst
-Let Hampshire, a player who actually was committed to the team , to leave and replace him with bargain bionic man
-signed Rob Butler

There is zero chance of staying fulltime. The TV money in the new deal is none existent and believe no longer includes a parachute payment. Sponsorship and hospitality value decreases so imcome there is hit. Ticket prices have to reduce, you can charge premium prices for a second tier product. The list goes on. We are screwed with relegation.

Michael has done what he can with small resources. If I have a criticism, it's around recruitment and failing to try to address key positions but, as he has often said, bring me 2-3 thousand more fans and he'll deliver a better squad.
He has managed to get us to a place nobody has in 50+ years; a modern and renovated ground. Nobody knows for sure what is coming in super league but clubs like ours are invaluable to rugby league and I suspect we are not as unpopular as the paranoia we sometimes feel.
Our luck looks like it has run out. I don't think anyone else could have done a better job with the club since Michael took over post Glover collapse. Between the shenanigans of wmdc and York Court, covid, which is always going to affect smaller clubs more and some rank bad luck with injuries for 4 years, his good stewardship looks like is not getting its just rewards. Thanks for your efforts Michael

Yes there is no parachute payment all clubs were remined of that this week by the RFL. The other thing to account for is that although new facilities will give a financial boost, once the club stary to use them ,the ground mortgage kicks in. This could eat up all the benefits. If our B.o.D are still around , i really cant see them putting their own money in so part time looks to be the only solution i would have thought.

Well if we can’t raise a team to compete in at the least the playoffs in championship the club will likely end up like Bulls/London. That will be sad.

Look i can see your point but lets be a little realistic. The journey to new facilities started around 2009 before anyone had even heard of Michael Carter. It should have happened well before his watch and with a decent council Ted may have got the benefit. Plenty of reasons for its delay but to my mind Peter Box was the main culprit. I am certain that if he was still been around we would be as far away as ever. That man had no intention of Trinity getting a bean before his beloved Cas. MC was in the right place st the right time and with Box departing things started to move. More credit to JM actually as he has been the one who has steered things through. But Luck and timming have been a massive factor

Well, I beg to differ, though I am probably remiss not to mention John Minards. Luck had nothing to do with it. Michael and the team have had to apply all sorts of legal and political pressure to get the stadium over the line and I don't think our playing situation warrants the belittling of that achievement. It is sad that our playing fall is occurring now but I'm not for catastrophising about it till we know what the situation is, should our increasingly likely relegation occur

| The club are the ones generating the income and deciding the player budget. The fact that despite the number of years we have been in SL. We still have the lowest salary cap which is nothing to be proud of but is in fact a failure of those in charge of money generation. We do not have a Ken Davy but not all the clubs do but they are obviously better at raising finances.
We have one of the highest season ticket prices, you have to pay an annual fee to get in the bar and then the bar prices I believe are excessive compared to and I don’t want to say it the con club for example. We have no marketing of matches or if we do I have missed it.
I know Vastman will be disgusted but Castleford manage to attract far larger crowds with increased sales revenue, which allows them to recruit better players.
I like many on here remember the years in the wilderness of the championship it is not the panacea some supporters believe it is. We went for several years seeing our better discoveries leaving for the bigger clubs. I hope I am wrong but I would not be surprised to see us drop to part time to cover the reduced money and maybe we will see other departures.
With regards the game on the radio it said, during the water break Hull KR huddled up to discuss the strategy with an assistant coach whilst we just drank the water.
