I don't mind RFL deciding the French team can't be relegated but that means no one is relegated not just them.

Anyhow I see Gledhill is claiming the 2 top division are spliting to 10 teams each in 2024. Pinch of salt, but if that is the case Trinity's stay in SL, and Toulouse's for that matter, are likely to be over next year regardless.

That wasn’t the case the year Cas Tigers finished above Catalans, and yet it was Tigers who were relegated, could it be allowed to happen again with different clubs,

The restructuring decision has been agreed between The RFL and SL, details to be announced this summer. Promotion and relegation this year, that’s why Leigh and Fev spending so much. The end of 2023 season will see the bottom 2 SL clubs relegated to SL2. Until details of the restructuring are announced, I’ve no idea if it’s equal funding for all clubs in SL 1 & 2, but the restructuring was agreed unanimous by all the clubs. Interesting but nervous times ahead.

At the outset of SL we were demoted.

Change is necessary but reducing to two divisions of 10 is stupid …

And got no SL funding for our first couple of seasons in SL.

They just reduced the top division to 10 teams and we along with Fev, Salford and the likes of Widnes were below the cut off unfortunately. Paris and London were parachuted in.

I thought it was Doncaster, Hull, us plus one other demoted but I may be wrong.

Featherstone, Salford, Wakefield, Widnes and Hull dropped to first division and Doncaster went to division 2.

Only London were added the year after. With no P&R
Paris was added a year later

I'll look but I think in order it was Fev, Salford, Widnes, Us, Hull and Doncaster. Keighley should have been promoted.
