Interesting to see Matt Frawley making his debut for the Raiders.
He was over here last year and out of favour at the Giants.

He played there at Junior level and they seem to like him, he even captained the side. Good to see despite an average 20 games for Huddersfield they're still willing to back him.

All very true and as you say it’s great to see him getting a chance back where it all began.

My point was that there was a halfback over here last year who wasn’t wanted by his club yet has all the qualities that are needed for a huge club like Canberra to select him as their starting halfback in the NRL.

Why didn't we sign him?

Chester has gone on record a few times now saying we need a halfback, we’re looking but there’s no one available.

I went to watch Huddersfield a lot last year and if you'd have seen him play you wouldn't of wanted him.

He won't have been cheap and he would've taken a quota spot up.

Is saw him play on probably 10 or more occasions, he wasn’t the best I’ve ever seen but he did have some pretty good games as well. What he did bring was some organisational and kicking ability, maybe he’d have been a better fit for us than he was for Huddersfield?

We could have taken him short term with a view to keeping him!

All in hindsight now lad! God knows, Canberra have only taken him on a one-year development contract. We'll see how it pans out for him after this game.

Yes played well and was a good captain too, pity we didn't see the best of him here

Yeah all the youngsters played well, liked the young full back

Sam Williams played well as did Frawley who scored a try

With a little bit of foresight and better judgement they could easily have been our halfback pairing for the last year or so.

He looked a cut above when he was with us

Think he and Miller deserved a proper chance to build up a partnership.

From my reckoning they only got a couple of games as Williams was on bench quite a bit, then I think Miller got injured

I rate Williams but I don't remember that many people fighting for him to be in.
Finn and Miller had a great run of games together.

When we had injuries he had a big influence and we won some games we probably wouldn’t on any other day. I would have had him first choice out of the 3 halves.

If we could sell the family Tupperware, I would have Tom Starling and Sam Williams in a heartbeat.

Yes they did.

I was looking through the super league stats from 2017 with my son this morning, Williams led the way with try assists and 40/20's. Bearing in mind a lot of his games were off the bench, and Miller spent a time out with injury. I think he was a lot better than some thought personally.

Maybe a good organiser, like a good referee dont tend to get noticed always, as organisers also do stuff without ball in hand always

As stated previously I would be happy for him to come back but surely the visa issues quoted in the above article will make this impossible ??
