| A bit of a marmite suggestion this as I know there are vastly different opinions of him. However, bear with me.
There have been a lot of suggestions regarding CC, about sacking him, helping him, bringing JK back etc. My suggestion is to have Brian Mc come in to help in some capacity for the rest of this season, the reasons being:
1. He is a winner
2. He is a local lad
3. He's doing nowt at the mo
4. He has been involved with struggling teams in the past - London
5. He has also proven he can motivate players he has coached for years that may have gone stale/complacent to re-perform - taking Leeds from the super 8s to GF winners
6. he has a track record of introducing young players - albeit from the beneficial position of a (mostly) winning team
7. He is, to quote Jon Wilkin recently: 'a great man manager'
I'm sure he'd be able to help either our attack or our defence and may fire up CC's confidence/enthusiasm, which must be a bit battered by now with how inconsistent/poor our performances are.
What do other contributors think?

| Think it would be a good idea to sound him out as you say not doing a lot at the minute suppose only reason would be finances

| My opinion of the bloke is that he is hugely anti Trinity despite being local.
Doesn’t mean he’s not right for the job though. CC was very much Trinity averse as a player. He knows the game around here that’s for sure and his drawing power would probably be stronger than Chesters.
Who knows, I’ve heard worse ideas.

| My main concern with Brian Mc would be we'd end up a Leeds retirement home. Worth also considering the playing roster he benefited from at Leeds, yes some young players came through but they were playing next to some club legends during a successful era and lets be honest plenty of those youngsters never really kicked on at SL level.

| If he came as a DoR like Kear did, at least for a year that wouldn’t be bad. God knows some fresh impetus is needed.

| Cost would be the main issue.
If we can afford Brian Mc alongside CC we can probably afford a quality scrum half instead

| Il throw a few names in to the hat, Danny ward and jamie Langley, James ford at York or Ryan Sheridan at cas. We need someone in who is going to put his own mark on the club, to build a team and change tactics and change the style of play, someone who is going to stop these ludicrous signings of players who are no better than we have and someone who is going to stop the deterioration of the club any further.
We have a team which are getting older and it needs addressing now. Copcheck 33 westerman 30 ashurst 30 Kyle wood 31 arona 31 Fafita 32 green 31, we are in big danger. There’s no relegation this year and maybe none next so it needs sorting

| Re. cost we've no idea what he'd want or what his current position is, as well as the level of his involvement...if he came as a troubleshooter/adviser he may be a lot more affordable than if he came as an assistant coach with a remit for say...defence. Plus none of us knows what's happening with Toronto and/or how quickly the situation may change there regarding new owners etc
I just think in our position it's an idea worth pursuing & conversations worth having - an alternative to approaching JK to do a similar job

| Cant see him getting any kind of wages from toronto at minute wilkin says hes not been paid since may so would think his contract is null and void and if he wants to keep his hand in and his hometown club in a better position why not try and get him on a part time consultancy basis cant be any worse prepared than we were last saturday so any help to chester should be considered

| I can see him ending up back at Headingley. .He knows the set up there and somehow Agar looks rather out of place, and I don't think his coaching style suits Leeds.

| He's never spoken of Trinity in a good light and I don't think he'd settle here because of that. Strange attitude bearing in mind what a good servant their kid was to the club, or am I correct in thinking that The McDermott family fell out with Trinity for some reason?

| A lot of coaches have inherited quality teams (Saints, Wolves, Wigan) and not won a single GF, never mind 4 - I'd accept a couple of poor seasons if I was gonna get 4 x GF wins and a couple of CCs to boot

When I first watched Trinity it was with my brother, we were young and he was a bigger fan than me.
He stopped going about 20 years ago. The last game he attended was the 2006 relegation game and I swear he was quietly supporting Cas.
Hasn’t even bothered with the last two relegation deciders let alone any other game. Only ever brings up Trinity to take the mic or be snide about them.
Why I don’t know but family is no guarantee of loyalty to the same causes, even those you once shared.
Something Trinity did in the past offended young Brian and that will never alter. Whether that would affect him as our coach who knows. Oddly there is every chance it would be a good thing, a lack of emotion and an I’ll show them mentality might just do the trick and then again it might not.
