Is it just me...? I can't be bothered to watch the Kick and clap world cup final even though England are in it. Frankly I would rather watch under 11s play League.Union bores me. My wife and son,people at work keep saying aren't you going to watch it. It's England,it's the final. Well no I'm off to Aldi . Anyone joining me ?

I've found for the last few years at least that international RU is more exciting and entertaining than international RL.

I always found union easier to watch at club level. It just seems to flow better. It's often too technical at international level.

Not today it isn’t. A stop start borefest, the last straw for me was that England advantage play must have been about three minutes long, Turned it off after that

The ONLY thing going for it is that it's a close game and that's because nobody has actually scored a try.
Mind you, our own international wasn't exactly a thrill a minute.

Where has all the flair gone - modern rugby all seems to be about the arm wrestle and inventive play has just disappeared.
Fear of losing seems to have over taken the desire to try and win.

The trouble with any team sport final is they tend to disappoint, the best games are normally the semi finals.
The games come on over the last 5/6 seasons while our games gone backwards.

Yes, although SA scored 2 late tries, just before their first try, the commentary was suggesting that they could be about to win their second final without needing to score a try to win - what kind of game is that ??

I don't think we can crow at them when we turn up like GB did today.
Our game is designed for free flowing running rugby and we might as well have been mauling up and down the field.

Bennet's style is not exactly expansive, it's all percentage rugby, which isn't a great watch.
The last few RL Internationals I've been to, apart from England v France, have been awful.

Over the past couple of seasons, I've been to the Olympic Stadium, Anfield and Hull, all of which were awful in terms of atmosphere, with the Olympic stadium being the biggest let down of the three and Anfield being the most uncomfortable - it's no wonder the football fans stand up al game.

Didn't watch it, not interested. Watched Tonga-v-Australia, which was a fantastic game, and an example of how to beat a team that is better than you on paper: be passionate, be unpredictable. Bennett hasn't advanced us. He's merely got us playing boring rugby.

I'm no big fan of RU, but played as it can be, it is much less predictable than RL -which has become come a very simplistic game. Tries can come out of nothing in union, but unfortunately so can penalties and 10 minute breaks.

It was no more dull a spectacle than many of the RL games i’ve seen this year, this mornings GB ‘effort’ a perfect case in point. Accept Union for what it is, a totally different game in which they’ll be good games and dull ones and don’t try and compare apples and oranges.

Are you suggesting that it's wrong to describe the England v SA game and the Wales v SA game last week as boring.
Regardless of any comparison with RL, these 2 games were an awful watch.

The TV does a great job of distracting the audience from the lengthy stoppages in play, which is probably a good thing for all of us.

The star man in most RU games is the referee!
And that say's it all really.

I did a Park run at Thorned Park much more interesting than kick and clap.

Oh and get rid of that Aussie GB coach waste of space with NRL player bias

Don’t watch Union in the same way I don’t watch baseball or netball it’s just not my game, I have no beef with it other than it attracts bandwagon jumpers though at times I wish we did.

As for GB we actually look over coached, we are hard to score against clearly but incredibly easy to defend against.

Bennet is a fantastic club coach but international he’s not so great imo. I don’t think he understands the mentality of the SL players for a start. One offload in the first half, those stars won’t beat anyone I’m afraid.

Saw the end of the RU final waiting for my son’s RL match this morning. Not really bothered though, bit like cricket or hockey I simply don’t care.

Like robots FC, can’t think for themselves, and Hastings, couple of half decent runs but not good enough for an over rated Aussie.

Love my international RL and always have, but they played like autonomous robots on the field today .Where the hell has off the cuff rugby gone ,if you got points for one man rugby we’d be world champions .Get rid of Bennett I say and let’s play super league style rugby under a coach that realises the crowd and viewers need to see entertainment on the field, not that dross that got served up today .
