I am not Wakefield based, so can anyone summarise the gist of the Wakefield Express interview?

He basically says that there are not too many quality players available on the transfer market as clubs are holding on to their talent because of what's happening in 12 months i.e. 2 clubs to be relegated from SL.
He also says that if we do bring anyone in then someone else will likely have to leave to make way. However, he is confident of announcing new signings "in due course", but states that this is down to the coaching staff to decide on who they want. We are currently talking to Lee Smith and Ali, along with Ollie Wilkes, Danny Cowling (likely Halifax-bound though), Liam Kay and Matty Wildie.
Apparently the playing budget has not been affected, despite our financial problems, as plans were already in place.

Thanks for that, interesting to see. Yes clubs are keeping hold of their talent but the young ones who havent been properly 'descovered' e.g playing in reserve grades not given a chance would be a risk, but a risk Id be willing to take.

Can't say I hold it against Andrew Glover for stating in year three Trinity would be spending the full cap. It was well intentioned. I suspect he's been let down by his management team, together with a dash of naivety on his part.

He also had no idea what he was taking over and the business of a sports club.

Its good he did not keep his wallet shut.

He did his due diligence he should have had some idea of what he was taking over.
I will pose this question is it a new regime or just the old people spending a new owners money?
If its the latter maybe AG or any mystery man in the wings may want to change things to avoid the mistakes of the past?

Think this is somewhere around the mark. When we had no money our CEO passed the small bag of money to JK and said 'It's all yours'. When a new owner came in and we didn't have a coach in place, our CEO said 'Here, i'll shown you how to spend your money'. Hopefully AG has learnt from this costly mistake and will employ a CEO who has some business sense and not just rambles on in the hospitality suite about his playing days at Rochdale and ridicules players that he is not fit to lace their boots.

id rather NGBC be CEO than Elston....least NBGC has passion for Wakefield.

I always feel that your CEO at a professional club should have the club in his blood.

He's from Leeds, and in the not too dim and distant past, I believe held the same position at Hull KR.

How well they have progressed in the past 3-4 years.

Couldn't care less whether the CEO has the club in their blood, in fact to insist upon it would narrow down the options. The key is their ability to do the job.

Completely agree elston and his missus are sucking the life out of the club. And AG cant even see it
