How poor are george and penny, they are both good for one thing an interception pass and running the length of the field once a blue moon. Penny contstanly comes off his wing in defence and leaves a massive gap. We miss Blanch!!!

Hopefully Murph will be fit next week and we can put him back in to centre and move george to the wing and Penny can go back to the reserves (although after their win at Sts he might not get a game there either)

Penny does try he's just not very good and i would not pick him.

What exactly did George do wrong, I've watched the game twice now and I can't see it. Leave him at centre why should Murphy walk straight in. This is becoming silly now, just because he showed some loyalty does not make him a messiah, he's been OK this season but no better than the rest - we are mixing sentiment with ability here and getting the sums wrong IMO. There will be someone on calling Murphy a legend next.

Agreed. I thought George did ok last night and better than most.

johnson did play in the reserves and played well. can't see why he is not playing first team. prefer him to most of the others strong in defence and willing to work. as for george . thought he did nothing wrong at all. been one of the lads biggest critics but this season he seems to have stepped up to the plate.

Maybe Johnson was taken out of the public glare with news just breaking of him being charged for the assault. If his heads right over the coming weeks he should get another chance as Penny has done nothing to justify inclusion ahead of him.

Don't think Penny did much wrong. He had come in off his wing for their first try, but he had no choice, because it was him against three. Same with the intercept he went for. It was either interception or try, because it was three on one. I think he blew the run-out from behind the line, because there was a huge gap, and he went to go round Wellens rather than just getting onto the field, but I wonder if that would have involved stepping off his weaker foot, because he wasn't facing forward. He fancied stepping around one of the best full backs in the game and got caught.

We missed a bit of oomph up front, that's all. King isn't back to last year's impact, and we were missing Korki and Morrisson.

I have to say I think that George has played better in the centre than he does on the wing, Penny is enthusiastic running about all over the place the problem is he is never where he should be when the opposition get the ball and pass out to the wing, hes also no good at catching the high ball in fact hes not that good at catching the ball.

The problem is that he is not a rugby league player! Times have changed since he broke onto the seen in 2006/2007, SL is at a far better standard with far better players playing the game.

Unfortunately for Penny, the above point has exposed his weaknesses. I know he is keen to do work, and runs about like a blue d flee, but this only reminds me of kids who play the game at u8s level...he doesn't have the fundamentals in place to play to the required standard in SL and in my opinion should be left in the reserves until his contract expires when Johnson returns.

The game as changed and a lot of it is not for the better. In the good old days wingers were there to score tries end off

We have 3 wingers who with ball in hand are match winners in defence and under the high ball all 3 are as poor and need to improve

Vasty you smart alec, I know george didn't play on the wing last night but he normally does he is very poor and he tackles like dale winton. If you honestly think that george and penny are good enough for us then you pal are a jerk.

Murph and jonhson for me are in a different league, even morton should be ahead of those two, george has had several years to develop and hasnt moved on as a player.

Luke has improved alot this season and last night Penny saved us on several occasions, just watch first ten minutes of first half again to see two examples. He was also close to stopping another try. At least the centres and wings are defending wider than last season when we had Blanch and Gleeson stood under the crossbar most of the time. I just do not know what some of you expect , two months ago we were looking at oblivion , keeping Saints scoreless for 20 mins was an achievement in itself. We did make mistakes but we never gave up

In 100% agreement. The players need our full support at games and bagging them won't help.

He hasn't slagged Murphy off.

I can't recall saying George did anything wrong. However, he has spent most of the last two seasons as a winger and therefore is probably more suited to the position then Murphy.

Why does every post from you have to come with such arrogance, as if nobody but you has the right to an opinion, because your always right and nobody else is.

Your the one who has his sums wrong, still believing Ted did what he believed was best for the club and not himself and his family. Now that to me is far sillier than suggesting George onto the wing for Penny and Murphy in at centre.

I have noticed George putting some big hits in this season. What he does do is run backwards instead of forwards when he is being attacked. Also the try Saints scored straight from the scrum was just poor. He was too close to the man inside him which in a set piece defensive situation is very poor indeed.

I think it's shown over the last couple of weeks that George is better suited to the centre role than on the wing. Will be some interesting decisions to make when Murphy comes back and that is not always a good thing for Kear.
