Found out tonight Steve Parkin is to be our new owner and the deal to go through as quick as possible. He is the owner of Guisley football club and is worth about 170 million. Steve Ferris is more than likely to be the new Chairman of WTWC. Source tells me they are about 90% certain of this but are not sure if the intentions are to go into administration or just pay the debt off. I am also told that Guisley are not for off Blue square premier status and need a sufficient ground to satisfy this and are that certain that this will happen that are willing to invest in Wakefield to ground share.

This may please some and not please others but looks good for me.

I don't think anyone said he had to - perhaps he just wants to? If he's as wealthy as has been reported, I can see the attraction of owning the clubs that will play both summer and winter sports at NM.

Guiseley's not exactly on the Wakefield boarder, though. Maybe he needs a Wakefield connection for the team to play in a stadium run by the Wakefield Community Trust?

If you read that (although the article is 4 years old) you'd have to say there's not a hope in hell of him moving Guiseley FC or whatever they're called to Newmarket.

Seems like a bloke with very realistic ambitions, though. I like his ideas for his football club, and would love us to have someone with the same vision (and cash) at Trin.

Unless he intends to re-locate us to Guiseley for a few years!

I dont know if this is true but what I DEFINITELY do know is that the 1st Team Manager at Guiseley is a huge Wakefield fan and contributes himself in a big way through sponsorship etc to our club.
