Obviously DLA Architects have done the drawings of the stadium that we've all seen since December 15000 capacity with the corners filled in and 12000 without. Once detailed plans go in is the stadium still going to be like the original plans with standing areas at both ends and seating along the sides. It looks like we'll have and away end like most new stadia have, with most Trinity fans liking to stand it will make for a good atmosphere in the Trinity end, with the main stand and the other stand which could be the family stand it will be an attractive atmospheric place to watch a game of Rugby, 100 times better than Belle Vue

I wish the Delorean was working I'm far too impatient.
All the waiting, longing and sweating will all be worth it in the end!
Once I've bought my first pint in NM (and one for the old man after all the beer he's bought at BV) and walk up onto the terrace behind the sticks in anticipation of the start of our first game all the heartache will seem so irrelevant!
The "home and away ends" will do wonders for our atmosphere, we need to create the same electricity we do at away games when were "penned in".

Putting a detailed planning application in for a site the size of yours isn't just a question of sticking in a load of plans, there are environmental reports, traffic, contamination etc.
If the designs haven't been shown yet, I suspect that the developers will put in an outline application similar to what Cas & Salford did.

The outline for the stadium went in as part of the whole site back in February, the decision on that is due back next month. |

That's good for the application. Why would the Government waste time and money on a Public Inquiry when the land is going to be used for employment anyway.
If the Council grants outline consent next month then we should on our way. |

From what I have been told as soon as we get the nod the full application is ready to be submitted- baring any amendments that are attached to the approval of the application.

interesting that it states it is only for B8 distribution so it looks like the hotel, restaurant and offices have been dumped as per the last set of statutory reports (not suitable for out of town).
The proposal doesn't include the stadium site as this can get through on greenbelt land on its own merits.
Bad news for the NIMBYs as the distribution centre is coming with or without the stadium and sports facilities, like it or not. All they've achieved is getting rid of the other job opportunities and facilities which may have been useful to local residents.

No need to differentiate. We are the wholesalers and distributors of rugby league. We take in raw rugby produce, fashion it into a good product, and then distribute it to the rest of the Super League at a rock bottom price. |

The most recent response from the Environment Agency stated that as the land boundaries currently fall the only appropriate part of the development was the stadium, training facilities, sporting and educational development facilities. In particular they highlighted the offices as being inappropriate. However with the publication of this new information its clear the council have decided that this site offers the most sustainable development, which impacts the existing communities the least. Has common sense won out in Wakefield for once???
This news is a MASSIVE indication of how the council are going to rule the application in September!

What have I been saying!
This is very good news guys and I did expect that this would be the proposal they would put forward in the revised LDF. You must remember that this additional 95ha is a legal requirement from the original LDF review by the Secretary of States office, so it has to be met, and it is important that they have written this specifically in relation to the Newmarket site. The NIMBY's hopes of getting the current application to a public enquiry are looking slim IMO. |
