in all seriousness i hope this signing gives us the flexibility to not have sam obst having to be a 80 minute player and tackle bag, BJ/ sam = options as does Newton/latu

i see the bench as easy this year being sam/latu and 2 props, gives Jk ways of changing games.

BJ surprised me as well - pleasantly. Thought he showed a fair bit of intelligence in his passing, rarely giving it to someone covered by a defender, whereas Broughy did it a few times. He was quicker/sharper than I expected as well.

Didn't go today but good to here bj played well. Hope he has a good season for us, I'm sure brough will and that means if 6&7 are firing we should be in for another good (improved) season. Well done bj!!!

He certainly caused us more problems than Brough.

wasn't surprised, always thought he would do well. thought he had a really good game. looked sharp, very busy and took charge when he was on.. really pleased with todays performance by them all. thought morton and murphy showed up well

BJ's problem is that he won't be cut too much slack. Fans will be patient with Tronc provided he puts in the effort, and Millard won't be expected to gel immediately. If BJ takes a while to settle into his new team, people will be on his back pretty quickly.

Unfortunatly thats jeffries all over can be great but can be terrible. Hope he can consistently good this year we all know he has the ability. Good luck to him he has a lot to prove this year.

That's not how it works. BJ, Brough or any H/B can only look good if there pack is on top. If the pack isn't on top they will look poor.

Some H/B's can get their pack moving, but even this is dependent on them wanting to. Some H/B's will produce individual bits of magic even if the pack is beaten though this will rarely involve actually winning the game.

Some H/B's will run around like nutters, bawling, ducking and diving. Sadly although it looks good and pleases a section of the crowd it rarely achieves much.

BJ is not one of the above, but in a team that is on the front foot he will have a field day. For what we need he fits the bill and will compliment Brough who's all of the above some of the time.

IMO BJ is one of the most consistent players I have ever seen. He always plays the same game at the same reasoned tempo, his success almost always depends on the teams performance as a whole. He is a team player.

I don't know but I suspect Kear finds BJ a very easy player to coach.

Sounds like Jeffries is going to find his best form again under Kear. I hope he does well 2nd time round with you, you could never fault his effort, I just hope he can be consistent for you lot.
