Bull`s Chairman Peter Hood has confirmed that they will part company with Terry Newton at the end of the season. He wanted a 2 year deal but they were only prepared to offer 1 year.

Cheers. By the middle one I figured they are there for cover, rather than being ready for being part of a regular rotation. Alhtough next year Kear might be trying a new tactic of squeezing 4 hookers into his 17, so who knows.

He's not my favourite player either, though I must say that Kear's record with "hot heads" is very good.

I'd be more worried by the fact that Bradford were prepared to offer him 1 more year but not 2. Another Sid, perhaps?

I think he's more effective game to game than either of Sculthorpe or O'Neill. Not that their hot headedness was really the big issue when they were with us.

My only concern with Newton is he looks to be carrying a couple of pounds, but nothing major. For what he does on the pitch I think we are getting a player who if it wasn't for his reputation, would still be at a 'top' club.

You're right - but I think it's the same as we had with Domic.

If the rumours are right about what Cas have offered him then it would be too much of our cap to gamble with - IMO of course!
